I have the pool sitting on a wooden deck and the bottom is strong enough to span the decking boards (no more than a quart inch between boards) without being an issue.
At 30" deep, the kids have gained a lot of confidence in the water. It's deep enough where they can dunk their heads but not so deep that I have to constantly worry about someone falling. Plus, with the floating pool rim, you can fill it high or as low as you want (as long as the intake for the circulation pump is submerged which is about 20 or so inches off the ground) and the rim rises or lowers accordingly.
Only thing that I can't seem to get to work right is the drain plug. It drains so slowly into a 50-foot garden hose that after an hour, the water level dropped about an inch. I scrapped that technique and used a utility pump to drain the pool.
Would definitely recommend.
The directions say that you must have a level place to put it, but for practical purposes my backyard is about as flat as they come. I requested a refund two days ago from CMS Worldwide Sales and have not heard back yet. I would definitely advise AGAINST buying this product.

One thing that they don't tell you much about in their literature is how to maintain the pool. That was one of the things that I was most anxious about since I had never had to do that growing up. I certainly didn't want the kids swimming in a slime pool. So since there wasn't much info to go by, we took a trip to a local pool supply place and they set us up with a simple inexpensive test kit and two chemicals to be added to the water at regular intervals in order to maintain the chlorine and PH levels. Pretty simple, but you have to be ready to monitor regularly so as not to give algae a chance to get started. The pool comes with a small pump, and we let that run constantly. The filter included with it is washable... less waste. All-in-all it's actually less trouble than I had thought to keep the water clean. And my wife is now calling me the pool boy ;)
I bought one of these pools to put them in and it has worked GREAT! It is sturdy and just the right size and depth for two rather large Koi. I did use the filter from my original Koi pond instead of the one provided because it would have been inadequate for what I was using the pool for. I set it up, filled it with water, added the dechlorinators and other stuff to condition the water for the Koi to live in, moved the pond filter over to where the pool was set up and ran the hoses. I used some of the rocks from the old Koi pond to make them a reef and hold the outlet hose from the filter down. I even made them a "ghetto" Koi castle using an old plastic patio table held down with some rocks.
Pat and Robin are healthy and happy with their "new" pond 5 months later and the pool is showing no wear or tear. In fact those two have grown a couple of inches and their condition is great. I plan on building them a new pond as soon as I can but it is a relief to know that they are in a good place so I do not have to rush on rebuilding so I can do it right. I am buying a spare pool to have on hand just in case something happens to this one or I need a holding pond for them in the future.
