Product Description
Product Description
Enjoy delicious, homemade sugar cones or waffle bowls in just seconds (and delight in the fresh baked aroma). Nothing beats the caramel aroma and fresh flavor of home-baked waffle cones, and this appliance makes one in about two minutes. And, because it has instant temperature recovery, it makes cone after cone without delay. The baking process itself averages about 90 seconds, depending on the degree of browning required. A color-control dial makes that personal-taste choice easy to select. Accompanying the waffle-cone maker is a plastic cone-rolling form. Illustrated instructions show how easily it's done, and recipes provide the remaining information needed to become a master cone maker. The nonstick waffle plates measure 7 inches in diameter and clean with the swipe of a cloth. Overall, the 1,000-watt appliance measures 8-3/4 inches wide, 3-1/4 inches high, and 10 inches deep. It carries a one-year warranty against defects. -Fred Brack

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
It took me two tries to get the right amount of mix to make the perfect cone. I had some of the mix slide out the sides of the machine...no problem, just wipe it off. When making your cone fold a small amount at the bottom before you begin rolling the cone; or pinch the bottom of the cone when rolling so that your ice cream will not come out at the end; or put some melted chocolate, butterscotch or caramel at the bottom and let it get hard...a tasty plug!!
The only thing I can think of that would make this one package complete is if the company would supply a rubber spatula, the towel (they mention using) or perhaps a pair of cotton gloves to help roll the cone...it is hot!! However, I really use just my hands. I get a better feel of the roller this way. And, please do not let these couple of items dissuade you from purchasing this machine. That would be terrible. We should all, hopefully, have a rubber spatula and towels!!
Cleaning the machine is a breeze. The non-stick heating pads are greatly appreciated.
I highly recommend this machine. What a great addition to any household that loves ice cream!!
Be Blessed!!
Still need to work on the Recipe some but the maker itself is great
Only the first time preheat had a little bit of smell of plastic.
The instructions also include recipes you can try. We tried them and also a few premade mixes. All of the recipes worked well in the waffle cone maker.
The latch on the front is a bit hard to latch and I worry about it breaking, but so far it has held up nicely and it latches very solid. My other issue with it being hard to latch is that my wife has a medical problem with her hands, so people with arthritis may want to check the use of this latch before using the cone maker to ensure it will be OK to use or if it will need to be returned. This latch is used to keep the lid down and spread out the batter across the heating surface, therefore it must be used or the cone thickness will not turn out properly.
The plastic cone form works well and is sturdy, but it does take a bit of practice to get used to it. This is not a manufacturing problem, but rather just a personal technique skill to learn. The first time I tried to roll the cones, the waffle would just slide around on the cone form and would then crack. I tried using a prepackaged mix Chef's Choice Gourmet Waffle Cone Mix and the cones were a lot easier to roll and came out very nice.
The casing of the waffle cone maker is built solidly. For this price range, I am impressed with the quality build. I cannot speak for the durability of the inside components, but I will update this review when I have used it for a long enough time to give a proper review of its life span.
This has an adjustable "color" dial. This allows you to adjust how brown the cone will be. It is basically a timer adjustment for how long it wil wiat before telling you to remove the cones. This is a nice option to have and is similar to a how a toaster works.
There are two lights on the unit to tell you when it is heated enough to add batter and when to remove the cooked cone. It only takes about two minutes to cook a cone.
This cone maker is very easy to use and I would trust my grandchildren to use it on their own.
So far I am very happy with it and I recommend it.
Pros: Extremely easy to use. It has to do a cycle first (details in the directions), but it's quickly ready to go. Use a little cooking spray so that you can easily remove the cone. Once you have ladled on the batter, close, latch and wait. After your first waffle cone, you can easily determine what number it should be on. The higher the number, the darker the cone. This item also comes with a tool that you can utilize to properly shape your waffle cone. Remember that you are dealing with an item that comes off of a hot object, but take your time and you will soon get the hang of it. You have to work fast, but each cone (unless you get it perfect the first time) gets better until yours look just like those in an ice cream shop. By the way, it's easy to clean. Use a damp cloth to wipe it. Also, don't worry if you put a little too much; It comes off the side and you can trim it/let the catcher handle it.
Con: I love this product, but I was not impressed with one of the waffle cone recipes that it provided. In fact, the recipe was extremely heavy, and I had to thin it out to create the right level of thickness for the cone. I recommend trying another waffle cone recipe or altering (as I did) what is provided to get the right cone.

1. It says to use about 3 Tblspns of batter. I would guess if you were using a thinner batter then that might be the case but I used a slightly thicker batter and found just over 1/4 cup worked best. If you look at the picture, there are 2 cones that show the difference between using 3 Tblspns and using over 1/4 cup.
2. I used the recipe in the booklet but almost doubled the sugar because I wanted these for ice cream. I found they needed to be sweeter.
3. You can use milk, more melted butter, or even more egg whites to thin if the batter is too thick but milk makes it a little softer in cone form.
4. The recipe booklet for regular waffle cones made 6 - 7. Since I did a couple of small ones, I would say 6 full size ones.
5. If you use a dishtowel to help you roll it, press down on the bottom tip of the cone to ensure no holes. Yes, you are flattening the very bottom but it is hardly noticeable and there will be no ice cream leaks.
6. I did wipe it down before I started with a paper towel sprayed with vegetable oil but I don't think I needed to. All of the cones came away from the plates easily.
If you can find the one for mini cones, I highly suggest you invest in both. They are excellent little machines.
