Product Description
Product Description
The Celestron SkyMaster 15x70mm binocular is the ideal choice for amateur astronomers or anyone who observes at great distances. The 70mm objective lenses have excellent light-gathering capabilities, delivering superior low-light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Choose SkyMaster for dusk, dawn, and nighttime astronomical viewing. Moreover, the prisms inside the binocular are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. The multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The binocular's durable exterior housing protects your SkyMaster from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through the SkyMaster binoculars is comfortable for eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the foldable rubber eyecup. The SkyMaster binocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can use the built-in binocular tripod adapter to mount it on any standard photographic tripod or monopod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). Buy with confidence from the world’s No.1 telescope brand and a leading binocular manufacturer, based in California since 1960. You’ll also receive a Limited Lifetime warranty and unlimited access to technical support from our team of US-based experts.

Binoculars come in a wide range of shapes and sizes these days, and an even wider range of prices. It's easy to spend less than $100 or more than $500 for what may appear to be, at least outwardly, comparable models. While they may look the same, they are probably quite different on the inside.

I chose the 15 power because they still have a nice wide field of view. The higher power binoculars would bring things closer, but I want to be able to "star hop" and the 15 power is a good ballance of power and wide field. I look forward to darker skys, perhaps a short car ride away. I hope to see the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, as well as the Gallalean moons of Jupiter.
These binoculars have smooth focus and work well with my eye glasses. The work well for looking at distant objects on land, but you still need a tripod. These are not for bird watching or sporting events, they are much too large and powerful for that. They are heavy and difficult to hand hold. It would be hard to track action with them.( For that use, I would highly recommend 8x42 binoculars, Celestron makes a great, cheap, waterproof pair of those, too.) But they are great for astronomy, much easier to set up and use than a telescope. The wide field will provide beautiful star filled views of the night sky. These binoculars are well made, provide a sharp clear, image, and can be obtained at a great price. They are not waterproof or fog proof, but if you store them properly, and don't dunk them in water, they will give you a life time of exelent service. I highly recommend them.

Last week, visited the dark sky site and saw the beautiful sky with full of stars with naked eye and once I used this binocular then I and my kids were really amazed. We also saw the Jupiter and its 4 or 5 shining moons and also saw the Saturn with its rings.
Last night, viewed the Super Blue Moon (August 30, 2023) from my balcony and moon was really brighter and clear from the binocular, I never saw the moon that much brighter and clear live from my eyes. I also captured the pictures from my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE phone camera through the eyepiece of binocular and pictures are attached but not that clear as it was directly from binocular but still I love these pictures. I had to take these pictures via PRO mode with different ISO, Aperture and White Balance settings hence moon colors are different.
This is the first binocular I bought in my life and I'm really happy.
I also bought the Amazon basics Tripod stand for night sky view for long time.
It is not very light but I and my kids can hold and view the moon and sky easily but if you want to see planet like Saturn or Jupiter then you will need Tripod stand otherwise due to vibration from your hands you cannot view properly or if you want to take pictures of sky and moon then you must need Tripod stand.
I definitely recommend Celestron 15x70 binocular.

(Acrux).
