Product Description
Product Description
The Newborn 250 Super Smooth Rod Revolving Frame caulking gun has a steel revolving frame that fits 1/10-gal. cartridges and has an 18:1 thrust ratio for use with acrylic, adhesives, asphalt, butyl, and cement. The revolving frame allows the barrel to rotate for maintaining the same bead orientation when caulking around corners. The smooth pressure rod requires less force and is quieter than a ratchet-style pressure rod. The zinc alloy handle and trigger provide corrosion resistance, and a seal puncture tool and a spout cutter are built into the side of gun for opening cartridges without a knife.
Caulking guns, also called caulk or cartridge guns, dispense a controlled flow of products such as caulk, sealants, and adhesives from a tube or cartridge. A manual caulking gun consists of a frame which holds the tube, a trigger, and a rod which moves forward when the trigger is depressed, dispensing the product. Manual caulking guns have a thrust ratio; the higher the thrust ratio, the easier it is to dispense the caulk, sealant, or adhesive. Air-powered or pneumatic caulking guns also have a frame and a trigger, but are used with an air pressure regulator that pushes the product from the tube using air pressure instead of a rod.
Newborn Brothers Company, Inc. manufactures sealant and adhesive dispensers and accessories. The company was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Jessup, MD.

Only thing we struggled with is the tip cutter (getting an angle we liked) and probably due to inexperience and definitely not anything to deduct any part of a star. It's really nice.
I see some reviews knocking this for not being drip-free. It is what it is. It works well and happens to not be drip-free. It is kind of like complaining that your carpet vacuum is not a wet/dry vac. You want drip-free then move along and get a drip-free. I can see where drip-free is a big pain for someone who is fast with one of these. I would not want the lost pressure of the drip-free because that slows the process down if moving very fast. I got used to how it operates and like the gun. I found it faster to quickly use my palm to release the pressure. It operates very smoothly and pressure of gun works well with DAP.
I bought 2 of these so 2 people could use at the same time to speed up the job. I was able to move fast enough to outpace the other person who was smoothing out the caulk to the point that I was smoothing out almost as much as them and I was doing ALL the caulking.
CONS: The cutter does not cut clean and the attached stick that polks hole in tube needs to be thinner so I can use a smaller hole on caulk tube when necessary.

These guns are amazing! Heavy duty and then some. I handed them out to the guys for a little on site testing today and every one of them threw out there old guns and were raving about them. They don’t get out much)
The action is so smooth and requires very little pressure.
The ladder hook is actually big enough to hook over a rung.
The poker is long enough not to damage the caulking tip for fine application.
The cutter doesn’t make a clean cut but I’ve never seen one that did, still cuts tho.
