No Ash Exhausted

Patented Dual-Layer Filtration Sytem

Our entire goal at Love-Less is to give you a reliable vacuum that won't spit out ash. Two fiberglass coated filters made right here in the USA protect the motor and keep ash from being sent out into your home.

Sealed Canister

Most vacuums spit ash back out into the air. Here at Love-Less, our six gallon canisters are sealed using metal clamps and an o-ring. You won't have ash on your furniture, and you won't have ash particles in your lungs.

Great for:

  • Fireplaces
  • Pellet Stoves
  • Wood Stoves
  • Fire Pits
  • Outdoor Ovens
  • Pizza Ovens
  • BBQs
  • Corn Stoves
  • Wheat Stoves
  • Biofuel Stoves
  • Others

Warm Ash Safe

The Cougar is designed to suck up cold to warm fine ash. Ash takes seven days to reach a true 'cold' state - we don't want you to wait that long.

While this vacuum should not be used with hot ash or coals, should you accidentally suck up too hot of ash or a live coal, this vacuum will not catch fire. The flame-resistant filters will protect up to 1000 degrees F, while the thermal plastic components will never catch fire.

10 Year Limited Warranty

We are so confident that this vacuum will last that we have a 10 year limited warranty for the Cougar outside of normal wear and tear. If you experience motor issues, manufacturers defects, or damage, give us a call and we will repair or replace the failing parts.

Additional Features

Includes Tool Kit

For all the nooks, crannies, glass fireplace panes, and other specialized cleaning needs, we've included a 10 piece tool kit, complete with a kit bag that easily ties to the top of the vacuum.

Clean Filters Without Opening The Vacuum

On the outside of the vacuum is a small agitator rod. Just give the rod a little shake and it will knock ash off the filters to restore your suction.

Quieter, Powerful Motor

This ash vacuum has a powerful motor capable of pulling 124 cubic feet of air per minute - the same amount as a larger wet dry vacuum.

Convenient Carry Handle

The Cougar has a metal carry handle that attaches right to the six gallon canister. This makes moving the ash vacuum and dumping it out quick and convenient.

Product Description

Product Description

The fire keeps you warm, but if cleaning up the ashes leaves you cold, the Cougar+ Ash Vacuum is just the thing. The Cougar+ is made by the Love-Less Ash Company right here in the USA. It features a patented dual filtration system that captures the smallest of ash particles found in wood stoves, pellet stoves, fireplaces, corn stoves, barbecues and pizza ovens. Designed to remove fine ash, this vacuum is capable of removing cool to warm fine ash, not hot ash or coals. Attempting to suck up large pieces of ash or coal will result in a clogged hose or damaging the unit. Simply use the metal nozzle to break down any larger pieces of ash before vacuuming them up. The filters and hose are flame resistant, so don't fret if you suck up a hot ember or two. An external agitator rod allows the user to clean the filters without opening the unit. The Cougar+ has a thicker motor housing than its predecessor, the Cheetah II Ash Vacuum, making it quieter during use. It has a 6 gallon canister with 3 gallons of capacity. This vacuum has a ten-year limited warranty. Included with this ash vacuum is (1) outer filter, (1) inner filter, (1) 5' metal flex hose, (1) metal nozzle, (1) round horsehair brush, (1) crevice tool, (1) pellet stove hose, (2) miniature brushes, (1) miniature crevice tool, (2) miniature extension wands, (1) adapter, and (1) drawstring tool kit bag.

The Cougar is designed with safety in mind. It features a steel nozzle with a five-foot flame-resistant hose and a fireproof three-gallon steel chamber. The patented filter system uses fire-resistant fabric rated up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, and the remaining parts are all made out of thermo-plastics to withstand high temperatures.

NOTE: Never use a household, or shop vacuum to clean a fireplace, because warm embers can be hidden under ash, which acts like an insulator and can keep embers hot for days after you think the fire is out. The combination of swirling air and debris inside a flammable paper bag filter is an extremely dangerous fire hazard.

Filter System Captures the Smallest Airborne Ash Particles
The Cougar features a double filter system that ensures no ash escapes the vacuum. This system leaves your air ash free and makes the process of cleaning your fireplace simple, clean, and healthy.

Each of the system's filters is designed to trap the finest ash, and the second filter even captures sub-micron particles. This double-filter action effectively traps ash, so your air stays clear.

Clean Filters Without Removing the Lid
Your Cougar's filters can be cleaned without removing them from the vacuum, eliminating any potential mess. For a quick dust-off, simply remove the brass cap from the lid and jiggle the agitator rod from side to side to shake the filters and make ash particles fall off.

After you have vacuumed up 60 to 80 gallons of ash, your Cougar will be ready for a thorough cleaning. Just detach and vacuum the secondary and primary filters to clean them.

Three-Gallon Canister Requires No Bags
The Cougar Ash Vacuum features a cold-rolled steel canister that will hold up to three gallons of ash. This fireproof canister safely contains your ashes without bags, so you'll never need to worry about expensive and annoying replacements. Just remove the canister's lid when it's time to empty your ashes.

Removes Ash Quickly and Quietly
Thanks to its powerful, six-amp electric motor, the Cougar can suck up ash quickly and easily. What's more, specially designed motor housing makes operation as quiet as can be. In fact, the Cougar is the cadillac of ash vacuums, operating with 60% less noise than the Dustless Technologies Cheetah II.

To help speed up ash removal, the Cougar's crimped steel nozzle is designed to quickly pick up ash and leave larger debris behind--for burning at a later time. To use, just place the vacuum nozzle directly on the hearth and swipe it in a circular motion. Ash will flow smoothly through the hose without clogging.

Warranty
The Dustless Technologies MU405 Cougar Ash Vacuum is backed by a one-year limited warranty for home use.

8 yrs runs strong. !!! I don’t have a special wood stove or special ash skills !!! Works great
5 Stars
8 yrs runs strong. !!! I don’t have a special wood stove or special ash skills !!! Works great
When we first got the woodstove eight years ago we had no idea how much dust would be generated from cleaning it out by hand we quickly saw we needed A better system to Keeps the stove area dust free In fact the ash dust gets on everything It was a little cheaper back then as I recall and there weren’t many options or other brands Full disclosure to get it to One only pick up the fine ass takes more than starting it up and sticking the hose into the firebox There is a little learning curve. It wasn’t uncommon for me to pick up more than just Ash and fill the hole was instantly getting hot because not only has it sucked up a hot coal But you are shooting air at a it Like a little a blast furnace. It has been my experience that less is more I quickly stick the pick up tube straight down so it’s sitting on the fire brick And then quickly move it right to left working my way back the whole process takes me less than 20 seconds there are always going to be times where the hose gets clogged up “mostly user error “” it really is a quick fix I simply disconnect the hose and reverse I have found that works nine out of 10 times sometimes I also have to bang the hose on the hearth a little. and a couple times a year I have to push something usually my finger through the intake hole on the side of the vacuum Now remember the unit is eight years old and it’s used 150 times a year occasionally breathing fire without blowing any ashes into the air not most of the ash but all of the ash !! The hose has grown shorter due to it unraveling and having to cut it. But to tell you the truth I think it clogs less now because the hose is a little shorter The hose is more rigid than one may like but considering it’s task it has done well. Tip I wrapped the end of the hose with electrical tape on and around the area being cut this stops the metal hose from unraveling more I have used a hacksaw , but I think a grinder with a cutoff wheel worked better. The bottom of mine was just metal and it would scratch the wood floor so I put a piece of door edge protector which is made of vinyl or rubber and it fits perfectlyThe filter is only now starting to show wear I wish the clamp and filter was easier to use it can pop off when trying to empty and clean it out or even when I use the agitation rod that helps shake and clean the filter if it is starting to loose suction the lip that the clamp and filter bag are clamped against is simply not big enough we have a wood stove and it works great.Given the alternative of destroying shop vacs or some of the lesser quality or worst of all doing it by hand it’s worth it’s weight in silver “ not gold”. And empty not fullTIP. To keep the hose more organized I put a strong little magnet and this lets me keep the hose wrapped around the vacuum and mount on the side of the vacuum I keep it next to the stove and it doesn’t look that bad Unless Martha Stewart is stopping byeIt’s my experience that the fine ash makes the fire hard to start because it blocks the air flow the larger pieces or coals left behind by the vacuum create voids which helps the fire start. All that said for me and my wood burning stove it rates an A. Even with its short comings how many products do you use as frequently that last as long as this performing such a hazardous task.?
