Love it. It's a flame thrower

Love it. It's a flame thrower
Love it. It's a flame thrower. It pulls alot of propane at high levels and you'll see a reduction in output as the 20# cylinder starts to ice up.I converted it to natural gas with a variety of fittings and drilled out the orofice to 0.125" (1/8" drill bit) which is perfect. Tested the emissions with a CO monitor to make sure I have the mixture right. The 1/8 orofice seems perfect with mostly blue flame and 0 ppm of CO in a closed garage. On propane, the flames would go up the side of a 15" wide pot by about 8". On natural gas, the flames only go up about 4" up the side of the pot. That's still way too much power for this 15 gallon brew kettle.I was previously using the SP10 on propane. This unit on natural gas saves about an hour on brew day. The cost of the natural gas is also 37% of that for the same energy level from propane (converting gallons of propane to therms) - and you never ice up or run out. That's in California where natural gas deilvered is $1.74 a therm (ridiculous)5/17/20 pandemic update: 2 years now... still going strong. Keep it out of the weather. Everything can rust.12/22/21... brewed hundreds of gallons of beer with this thing. Still working great. It's so quiet compared to the propane high pressure models. Almost 4 years old. Remarkable price increase from $85
