Garlic Herb Butter Recipe
This recipe was developed by our team at Living Whole Foods, specifically for three herbs included in this assortment: Chives, Oregano, and Parsley.
- ½ Pound Room Temperature Butter (Salted)
- 1 Tablespoon Heavy Cream
- 2 Cloves Garlic, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon fresh Chives
- 1 Tablespoon Oregano
- 1 Tablespoon Parsley
- Pinch of Salt and Pepper
In a small bowl using a hand mixer or a spatula, mix the butter (at room temperature) and your herb spice blend. You can store it in a sealed container or roll into a log shape using parchment paper or plastic wrap. Twist the ends like a tootsie roll so the log shape forms. Then refrigerate for at least two hours. This sets the shape of the butter and allows the flavors to absorb. Then serve on top of your favorite meal or use a slice to start your sauce or sauté. This will quickly add heaps of flavor to any entree, side dish or snack you make!

So I get these seeds. It’s now in the 70s and 50s at night in Phoenix. I plant them. The mustard is taking over the pot I planted it in—there were thousands of seeds in the packet, and I thought “well maybe some are duds.” So I used maybe a hundred of them. Nope. I can barely see brown in the pot. They appear to have ALL germinated. They started coming in on Friday, four days after I planted them. By Sunday the pot was lush green and today they were even bigger and greener.
The basil, which I thought would take longer, started coming in yesterday. The chives are already coming in. On my way to a ballroom dancing class tonight I looked and saw that my peppermint, which is supposed to take 21 days to germination, had germinated. Another four have also germinated already, but I don’t remember which ones I planted in which pots, so I will have to wait until they are mature to see; one appears to be the sage, and one might be the summer savory, and one the dill. Who cares? The only thing that matters is that they are all, apparently, responding to rainwater that I collected from the last two storms and diluted pee fertilizer. I planted 10 of these and 8 have already germinated.
You’d have to basically be an idiot to not get these seeds to germinate—you’d have to plant them at the wrong time, or not water them, or put them somewhere that it’s dark.
The colossus SUPPLY of the WONDERFUL SEEDS ARRIVED!!!!! I JUST GOT THEM TODAY & STARTED DISTRIBUTING THEM IMMEDIATELY Generations to come will keep eating healthier & in more abundance because of this! Carrots, all the best different kinds of squash, cucumbers, lettuce & tomatoes, plus corn, delicious kinds of beans, peppers, beets WEEEEEHAAA are we all thrilled, ecstatic, jumping for joy!! answering these Chomorro village people's prayers).
Forever they had to wait for the ship or tiny planes to deliver a few unappealing, not fresh greens & veggies which is why lots of people for decades gardened masterfully. I have seen many of the glorious foods corn, spinach, broccoli, basil, beets & all you sent, at times in the local markets (no big stores here at all, just little mom & pop shops). The choices were MAGNIFICENT!!!!! We can never adequately show our appreciation!!!! I just know you will feel the happiness, gratitude & LOVE coming your way!
( and to the wonderful company that supplied them!)
UPDATE;
After the third week I have some sprouts. The cilantro and the basil and I'm assuming it's parsley but not sure yet have sprouted. Also in my box garden I had some garlic chives sprouting. I guess the seeds will pop but it takes quite a bit of time. I am upgrading to four stars due to the fact that you do receive a lot of seeds in each packet and they are of a good variety and the prices reasonable.

Every single type sprouted at least one (so far) mostly 5-6 (all I planted) in that 10 days. Talk about viable seeds! I took 5-6 of each type of seed and put them in an ice cube tray, with a diagram on paper of what I put in each one. I soaked them for exactly the time specified (using a timer) in the well written and easy to understand instructions that were included.
I saw some saying they had a hard time with the tiny seeds, what I did was use my finger to gather the teeny speck ones, and then (with a hole already in the peat seed starter) placed them carefully on a chopstick, and inserted them into the holes 1 or 2 at a time. I now have 6 of the 12 planted in the larger pots, and waiting for the others to get a little bigger before relocation. There are only 10 in the picture because the Mustard greens and the Thyme got too big for the seedling greenhouse by then! Jiffy 5032 Professional Greenhouse 25-Plant Starter Kit
If you want to see *really* tiny seeds, try planting persian violets, that is what is in the rectangular container with the itsy bitsy plants in it. None of the herb seeds were as small as those. My point is, with a little ingenuity and patience you can grow these quite easily. I'll have fresh herbs for years. So happy I decided to get these. Can't beat the price either!
