Why Use a Wrap or Diaper?
Our dog diapers and wraps are used for a variety of reasons including:
- Incontinence
- Excited Urination
- When Dog is in Heat
- Potty Training
- Marking Issues
Diapers Vs Wraps
Diapers
Diapers are typically recommended for female dogs; however male dogs are able to wear them as well. This is because diapers are designed to contain all of your pet’s unexpected messes.
Wraps
Wraps are designed specifically for male dogs and are a great way to provide you with much needed protection for male dogs. The male wrap material is great at absorbing liquids for lasting dryness and comfort.

Designed with your dog's fur in mind, our Fur-Friendly Fasteners prevent fur from sticking to the folds of the wrap. This makes attaching and removing the diapers safe and easy. |
Keeps liquids contained, preventing any unexpected messes. |
The wetness indicator even lets you know when it's time for a change, so your dog will never rock a wet diaper for long. |

We use size 6 baby diapers safety- pinned into the wraps. Since our dog is no longer able to walk and is a large dog we supplement with human disposable underpads underneath in case we do not get him outside fast enough when he tells us. We also use a large human adjustable disposable brief which we pin on with diaper pins at night or if we have to leave him alone for a few hours. (We do not use the wrap at that time.) We buy all of these products by the case at a local warehouse to make caring for our dog affordable. Although no longer able to walk, these products have allowed him to be a happy member of the family for an extra few months at the end of his life. While we were getting this system in place we were not sure how long we would be able to manage his care. While he makes it outside most of the time these wraps and his diaper absorb most, if not all, of the urine when he has accidents. We use a rubberized grate outside for him to lay on and use the bathroom. This grate also works well for him to lay on over our double laundry sinks when we give him a butt bath from time to time now that he is no longer well enough to go to the groomers. This system keeps him clean, comfortable and dry. You can tell he enjoys the care and seems to understand the adaptations help him.
A tip is to keep the wrap velcroed shut when washing so you do not get lint in the velcro. We either air dry or dry in the washing machine depending on the need. After using the initial wrap we have bought several more so we always have a clean one available.
I would definitely recommend the wrap. It is much nicer than the ones I looked at in the store and was recommended to me by a friend. It is also much more reasonably price. A win win!
These have been wonderful and have made huge difference in our being able to care for our elderly dog.
1. The company's sizing is off (unless they've recently updated their sizes). My 12 pound toy poodle wears a medium. Originally, I tried a small, but it was teeny tiny. I think the small would work for dogs around 5 or 6 pounds. The medium is probably good for dogs around 10 to 15 pounds. Maybe a little bigger, but you don't want the elastic to be too tight on your dog's belly. There's a little leeway because the diaper closes with Velcro strips that are about an inch wide, so if it's a little tight, don't overlap the Velcro all the way, or it it's a little loose, try overlapping the Velcro farther over. I would recommend buying one to see if the sizing works for your dog, then if it does, buy a few more so you're not doing laundry all the time. They're not supposed to go in the dryer, but I put mine in the dryer. I think they shrank up a little, but not too much. And they probably get more "worn out" looking from the dryer, but I'm lazy, haha.
2. These are NOT disposable diapers that are designed to soak up urine. They are meant to be used with a pad inside the diaper... the pad soaks up the urine, then you throw the pad away and if any urine got on the diaper, throw it in the wash. They make special pads to put in the diaper but they're pretty expensive, so I use an "overnight" maxi pad. The biggest kind they make. The kind with wings helps to secure the pad in place. You can get 30 for around five bucks. Just make sure when you put the diaper on your dog that the pad is right over his weiner... if he pees on the cloth part, it will soak right through. The pad is essential. The diaper "wrap" is just to hold the pad in place. I bought a diaper pail and I put the used pad in a plastic baggy, then throw it in the diaper pail to contain the urine smell. I think they make a similar type of pail for used cat litter. Then change the diaper pail when it starts getting ripe, haha. Good luck!
I tried to look for other brands of male wraps but after purchasing 2 other brands, I was extremely dissatisfied with their fit. I decided Simple Solution was the best wrap so far..I have washed the wraps a few times and even thrown them in the dryer, so I'm not sure if that is the cause of them getting a little loose over time. Overall good product, washable, and good price!
