I wasn't sure if these were legit so when I received them I put them to the test. I laid the glove on my cutting board and used a razor-sharp Wusthoff 7" Santoku Knife to slash across the index finger. I carefully examined it and saw there was NO damage done. I then put the glove on and gently stroked the razor sharp knife edge across the side of my finger and it didn't bother me at all. I then put some fairly strong pressure on it and drew it across and still no problem. I ain't stupid so I decided that was close enough and stopped with the testing. If it'll protect me from relatively strong pressure from a truly sharp knife, it'll surely protect me from an accidental slip of the blade. I will also wear them when using my antique Hobart meat slicer since it's guards and shields are not up to modern safety standards.
I would recommend these to a friend, for sure. In fact, I bought a few pairs and gave them as Christmas presents to friends who are into cooking and to my hunter friends who skin animals. They'd be perfect for skinning a deer or hog because the non-slip surfacing on the palms and fingers would help hang onto the skin as you separated it from the fat and meat while the slash and punture resistance would protect you from the skinning knife.
