I order for an electrician and the field staff fight over who gets to have these on their vans, they are their favorite way to drive things into the ground!

My family members have driven a LOT of t-posts into the ground over the years. I decided to try this spring loaded hammer because I thought it might reduce the effort it takes to drive a post into the ground. Boy was I wrong. The spring makes it feel like you're hitting the tpost with a pillow. It is completely ineffective at driving a post into the ground. Instead of saving energy, it requires significantly more energy while not even performing. No one has had success with this hammer and we all agree the regular hammers are the only way to go. This thing is junk.
While it seems that the spring will bounce the driver back up for the next strike, it actually steals a lot of the energy of the impact. you have to force the driver down with enough force to compress the spring plus more to provide the impact on the t-post. After driving a few posts, you'll be tired enough so that your downward force just compresses the spring and very little impact happens on the post. Your downward force is spread out over half your drive cycle instead of the full impact of a hammer.
