These Skullgard helmets have been tested to radiant heat loads producing temperatures up to, but not exceeding 350°F. A smooth crown allows for the easiest use of all MSA welding equipment. Meet the voluntary standard for reverse donning, low temperature [LT], higher temperature [HT[, and Hi-Viz [HV].
  • MULTI-PURPOSE CAP STRENGTH: Crafted with a phenolic shell and handmade for durability, toughness and quality, this helmet is usable in a variety of industries. Use Skullgard helmets in steel mills, welding, construction, open-pit mining, oil/gas/petrochemical refineries, rubber manufacturing, and steam tunnels.
  • FAS-TRAC III SUSPENSION: Designed based on opinions and input from hundreds of customers, our top-end Fas-Trac III suspension functions as an improved ratchet suspension. Flush rear lug attachments eliminate pressure points and three levels of nape strap adjustment give for a fully customized fit. Ratchet comfort pad is contoured to the back of the head, improving airflow and preventing hair-pulling. Ensure continued wear with drastically improved comfort and a graspable ratchet.
  • VARIETY OF SIZES & COLORS: MSA hard hats are available in a large variety of colors and sizes providing a comfortable fit and are also easy to clean and maintain. With many different reflective and retro-reflective stripes, MSA gives the ultimate experience in hardhat customization.
  • MEETS PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS: Skullgard Caps meet all applicable requirements for a Type I (top impact) helmet as outlined in ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 (Class G). They are fully third-party tested and certified by SEI. The double bands/straps fitted to the Fas-Trac III Suspension maximize quality and comfort while helping to keep you safe.

The principle function of the double straps is to absorb energy in the event of impact, distributing it to the four support points, at the same time as it embraces the user’s head, forming a shock-absorbing system. In addition, it only has a single stitching point, which makes equipment inspection easier and helps to provide for the everyday safety of the worker

As well as being extremely comfortable, the MSA Skullgard cap and suspension system come in three different sizes, offering the widest range of fit in the market (6–81/2”). helping to provide the perfect fit for a diverse work force.

Sweatband

For MSA, it’s not efficient if it’s not comfortable.

The basis for everything is comfort, and that’s why MSA is always looking for new technologies and solutions that meet the demands of an ever changing workforce. With the aim of absorbing the maximum amount of the user’s sweat, the sweatband on the Fas-Trac III Suspension is made of a coated and perforated foam, which together ensure absorption, sweat evaporation, worker comfort, and easy cleaning. The sweatband fitted to the Skullgard is supplied stitched-on, to avoid the loss or unnecessary replacement of items.

Barely sat it down, and the paint chipped, and now after having it a week it’s going from black to the original orange color. Still would recommend, but the paint is not the greatest
