Straight, 3- or 4 -Knife PlanersOur 3- and 4-knife planers offer exceptional high-speed steel (HSS) knives that have been heat treated for hardness and wear resistance; HSS keeps a sharp edge longer than other carbon steels. These efficient planers offer between 15” and 20” planing capacity. The exceptional quality of these machines is clear – key features include precision-ground cast-iron tables and extension wings, adjustable bed rollers, anti-kickback fingers, and a magnetic switch with thermal overload protection. |
Helical Cutterhead PlanersThe 4-row helical cutterhead contains up to 92 indexable inserts; these inserts can each be rotated three times to expose new, sharp cutting edges. The inserts sit at a slight angle to the workpiece for even shearing cuts, minimized tearout, and a smooth finish. These models offer a maximum stock thickness of either 6-1/8” or 8”, and a 2-speed gearbox drives the adjustable bed rollers at either 16 or 28 feet-per-minute. Our helical cutterhead planers are ready for extended use in any woodshop! |
Spiral Cutterhead PlanersOur spiral cutterhead planers start at 3 HP and go up to a 10 HP 3-phase industrial model, with the power you need to mill rough cut lumber all day long! With four rows of spirals to smooth each board, these planers will provide the clean cuts and consistent results you need for every woodworking project. Other valuable features that make these machines stand out include a four-column support with table locks, a segmented chip breaker, and feed rollers. |
Benchtop PlanersThese entry-level planers are lightweight and convenient to transport to any job site and are equipped with 2 HP so they are ready to support your woodworking projects. Key features include cutterheads up to 10,000 RPM with a feed rate of 32 FPM, for the exceptional performance you need. These efficient machines are also equipped with options such as handwheel depth adjustment, adjustable depth stops, and thermal overload protection. They are an affordable option for the beginner woodworker! |

I would highly recommend.
I bought this planer 3 weeks ago(demo model) and after
spending about an hour aligning the infeed and outfeed
extension tables I planed some Lacewood,Walnut,Oak and Maple, and I was amazed at the quality of this machine.
Not only does it do a great job planning wood(smooth as can be) but it is also quieter than planers with non spiral
cutter head. It has plenty of power to tackle any job
and it is vibration free. I'm very satisfied with this planer and I would highly recommend it to any one who is serious about woodworking.
Back to this piece of equipment. The one thing I read over and over about Grizzly is their equipment comes out of alignments and missing pieces...boy did they live up to their reputation. Mine came with all the bolts to attach the out feed tables but its gets worse. One out feed tables was machine wrong, which can be seen from the pics. The bolt pattern on the bed itself is approx. 11 3/4 and the bolt pattern width on the out feed table was approx. 10 1/4. I highly doubt this was one a one off and a whole series of machines went out faulty to the customer. Zero quality control.
But its gets worse. I called Grizzly and they wanted proof. Okay, no problem. I emailed them pictures. Nobody ever called me back. After 5 phone calls and 3 email attempts over three days...not a single person ever made any attempt to resolve the issue. Not a single person at Grizzly reached out to me to see how the problem could be fixed. They had absolutely no problem leaving me with a faulty machine.
I sat on the phone playing go around for days. Eventually I called my credit card company and they went to work. Only then did all of a sudden they reached out to me. Not until the payment was stopped did Gizzly lift a single finger to resolve my issue. In fact, they were pretty much jerks on the phone. I had one guy say to me, "Hey, I am just trying to help you out," as if he was doing me a huge favor by even listening to my complain. He did nothing. He did not help me out.
Point being, you are 100% taking a chance with Grizzly. Some people have good experiences and many do not. Just note that if you happen to be one of the unlucky ones, as I was, Grizzly could care less about resolving the problem. They have no problem leaving you hanging with a broken machine. And ask yourself this question. What kind of company is willing to manipulate the reviews on its own website? One that is here to make great machines...or one that is here to con you. Look for my review on Grizzly...look for my pictures. They are 100% not there at the time of writing this review and I left it over a week ago. I hope this helps someone in the future.
