Need:
I purchased this wall safe to put in my walk in closet. The idea was to put this behind clothes on the wall.
Installation:
I used a stud finder and marked the stud on two sides. I then placed the safe, with a level on top of it, on the wall and traced around the back with a pencil. I cut the wall and noticed there was electrical cables and TV cables on one side of the studs. I had to use some tape and tuck them to the side so that it wouldn't be in the way of the safe going into the cavity. I then marked the holes in the sides and pre-drilled them. I put the safe up and bolted it in using the 6 screws and washers. I started off with a rachet, then moved to an impact driver and then finished with a ratchet at the end to make it easier on my hands (dont go all in on these bolts because you are not right against the stud so you dont want to bend the metal safe). I then pre-drilled the outside 4 screws (no washers) and put those screws in. Took about 45 minutes for the install. Had my father helping me with a vacuum as I cut the wall so it made the job less messy.
Conclusion:
After installing the safe I am very happy with how it turned out. The safe is made very well and I think the workmanship is great. This is not a safe that is very strong (could be pryed open fairly simply) and should not be used as a primary safe. For me this safe will have a firearm, some cash, and a few little valuables that I wouldn't mind losing if there was a fire or something. Take your time installing this. Use it for what it is and you will enjoy this safe for a VERY long time!
