Superb quality flax seeds

I bought this item based on health reasons, reviews of the product here and all the great information on the internet about the benefits of adding flax seeds to my daily diet. I also bought a mini coffee grinder just for this product. At first I tried to chew it, ugh... it takes a lot of hard work, I felt like a cow chewing cud and the flavor is extremely, uh... earthy. So instead I ground it up in my new coffee grinder and added it to yogurt, YUM... the earthy flavor is gone and a nutty wholesomeness is added to my yogurt. I add it to everything and it makes a great addition to my healthy diet. The seeds look fresh, clean and healthy. They almost looked too perfect with a nice shiny shell. The freshly ground meal smells very clean and definitely has a nice nutty bite. There is about more or less a year on the expiration date on the package that I received. I would recommend this specific product to anyone who wants to add a bit of health to their daily diet. I'll more likely than not be ordering more of this stuff in the near future at the rate that I've been chowing down on it.

I used to buy the pre-ground version, but now I buy the whole seeds and use an inexpensive coffee grinder to process a small amount at a time. I keep the unground product in the fridge, and grind a week's worth at a time and store that in the freezer to help maintain nutrient levels and retard spoilage.

The product itself is high quality and has a nice smooth nutty flavor that goes well with everything from salads to yogurt, so I am always finding creative ways to incorporate it into my daily diet without it becoming a boring routine.

The grinder I use is the KRUPS F203 Electric Spice and Coffee Grinder with Stainless Steel Blades. It works well on those small seeds, and you can adjust how much you want to grind the seeds, from coarse to a fine flour. It's a single serving grinder, so you can't grind a large quantity at once, but each batch takes only seconds. It's also easy to clean, which can be a real problem with these types of grinders.

Going on a three day "Detox Cleansing" program required looking around for some flaxseed. After finding out that flaxseeds by themselves have very little to offer, as they basically just pass through your system, and paying a little more for "ground flaxseed" didn't seem to make sense of I wasn't going to use it very frequently. What I found first off was that flaxseeds pack a wonderful 4 g of fiber and 1 tablespoon along with Omega 3's. So forget the Fiber Con, Metamucil, or other supplementary fibers as they do not have those wonderful Omega 3's. Even better they taste delicious by themselves, sprinkled over yogurt, in your cereal, on top of your salad dressing, anywhere you find it useful. It has kind of the fresh nutty, earthy taste. And really the only thing that you need is a coffee grinder. Doesn't matter how cheap, any of them will do the job. I filled it up as much as I could, ground those little puppies up, and threw them in a Ziploc bag to scoop out whenever I wanted it. So for the product, the price, the prompt shipping, and the "Certified Organic" which does mean something to me, I could not be happier and even bought my girlfriend a bag and offered to grind them up whenever she wanted.

I bought these after one of my sons told me how good they taste with his Oatmeal concoction that he has for breakfast every day. (what he does is place a serving of steel cut oats into his blender, along with 1/2 tbs flax seeds and 1/2 tbs chia seeds, along with about 12-15 blueberries and milk substitute, blends it together, then drinks it all "raw"). Now I do about the same, but I prefer to chew mine so I don't blend this mix, I eat it cold and straight out of the bowl. (no cooking!) It tastes great and is really filling. (I use real milk - he doesn't because he's lactose intolerant)

I used to cook my oatmeal, but the plain fact is that I do not like the taste of cooked oatmeal. However, raw, it is EXCELLENT. Weird? Perhaps.

I have purchased these flax seeds before but never made a review. I love them and how easily they mix with my smoothies. I grind them up in a coffee grinder then add them to my smoothie. I read that when you buy flax seeds already ground up they lose their effectiveness. Anyway, if you let it sit and don't drink right away, they will thicken the mixture a lot (perhaps too much unless you want pudding.) Anyway I like the flavor of these and how easy it is to store them. I keep these in the freezer after I open them. I am currently using them for breast milk purposes but I generally used them before for general health benefits. Great reliable brand.

As for the benefits of flax seed (digestive, at least), I can say it has helped my parents quite a bit. They eat a tbsp with breakfast every morning, and in doing so consume significantly less food for breakfast (we're Pakistani, so our breakfast foods are heavy and not good for you). It also helps in cleansing your stomach, I eat it whenever I'm visiting my parents as well and it definitely helps get things moving.

I need not have to remind the healthy benefits of these flax seeds to myself and I regularly have this for my daily intake. These are golden colored , whole medium sized flax seeds .It looks clean and we get 2 pockets(32 oz) for this price. I initially started having it raw but then a lot of seeds got stuck between my jaw and inner mouth muscles and i kept chewing it like a bubble gum.

I started finding alternate way to consume this seeds and i take a handful of seeds and add it in my smoothies or grind it in a pepper mill and add it in my oat meal and it tastes fantastic. The expiry date of the seeds were almost 2 yrs from the date of my purchase.
