    As with pretty much all Melissa and Doug items we've gotten for our toddler, these are sturdy, educational, allow for him to explore and create on his own. There are also enough goodies in the package for us all to play together! It has been quite fun!

    Cons: The kazoo didn't work at all in our box and the xylophone doesn't really make much sound since it's wooden being hit with a squared mallet. That was s little weird, but the concepts are still there.

    I love the look and feel of these instruments although musically they don't do much. I like that they're not very loud. My girls love the harmonica, but the kazoo is pretty much worthless, it's almost impossible to get any sound out of it:(

    cute little musical set!! we have a nephew that is a toddler. His family as well as ours is very musical so naturally we want to make sure he has all the fun instruments within reach whenever he gets the urge to play. It seems we weren't the only ones that thought he needed music in his life as his parents got him a drum set too. lol. It's going to be a very noisy house there very soon!

    They also got it there in time for the holidays which meant a LOT to me, since I took too long trying to figure out what I wanted to do for him! I am very pleased with this seller and would order from them again.

    My 18 month old loves this set! He isn't able to use the kazoo or harmonica yet, but he loves play the xylophone and shake the tamborine while I play the harmonica. It's fun for the whole family.

    When I first opened the package I thought it was a little strange that the xylophone is all wood(I was expecting metal bars. It took a little while to get used to the sound of the wooden bars compared with metal. My only complaint is that some of the paint has chipped off of the green bar after a couple weeks of use. Otherwise a great way to introduce your child to the world of instrumental music!

    I do understand that these are toys and not professional instruments, but the xylophone is terrible! It doesn't follow the expected scale and the last 3 keys ( out of 8) are the same tone. Very disappointed because M&D toys are usually our preferred choice.

    I was torn between this set and the others. I decided this one because our daughter asked for a xylophone. When I opened it I was surprised at the size and weight. These are VERY well made, not cheap or thin. Great quality as expected, but much better than I imagined.

    She has played them daily since Christmas and even plays 2-3 at a time. She's pretty awesome on the harmonica too:)

    Not very impressed with this set. The metal bars on the xlyphone are too close together in some cases, and the sound is muffled. The kazoo is useless for my child as he can't him, only blow. The castinets are not very good either. Would not recommend.
