This stair step is just what I was looking for, wider than the one we had, very sturdy, and easily assembled, with good directions included. It comes in several color combinations, one of which matches nicely with our spa and the deck surface it sits on. It has a textured surface on the steps to help prevent slipping when wet.
The underside is open, not enclosed. That is not a problem for me, but was mentioned by other reviewers as a negative, so if you are looking for a steps with the back and bottom fully enclosed, it's not this one. Personally, I like that it is heavy and sturdy enough to do the job, but not too difficult to tilt up and water spray the undersides when needed for cleaning.

These steps assembled very easily, a rubber mallet and a drill was all it took. I also agree that additional screws would help to stabilize it in the middle... Right now it is summer so I will make sure to change/update my review if the materials do not hold up in the severe summer sun. I hope that they will withstand the frigid winter conditions because they really do look nice by my spa and I like that they are solid on the sides so leaves and debris will no longer gather underneath them.
