Ive been using it for a few days and it works just fine. It's a little floppier than i expected but its not a big deal. Pro tip- remove EVERYTHING from the floor before you start using it. You'll see.
There is a thriving market for these on craigslist etc- if you're a DIY person like me, its likely that this is one of those items you will only need once, or so rarely that its not worth keeping around. So you might want to check the local used market before you buy.
All that aside, it does what it's supposed to and and is 100% money well spent!
I've done a few ceilings with it now, lifting quite a few 8 and 12 foot 5/8 sheets, and it works just fine. I'm sure the people having problems also regularly burn up drills, break wrenches, etc and it's never their fault; it's always the dang tool.
If you're a skilled craftsman, you know the overconfident people I'm talking about. Otherwise... Well, people should be honest with themselves and pay someone to do the work instead of buying this tool. Having a hundred pound sheet of drywall fall on you due to your stubborn incompetence / cheapness isn't worth saving a few hundred bucks.
If you're doing drywall or any paneling by yourself (or even with a helper), this makes it way easier and is certainly worth the price. Even if you buy it and sell it after use, you're paying less than renting one.
