I would highly recommend this pad. I bought it for my first bouldering adventure in Joshua Tree and it was everything I wanted. I was freaked out about falling outside, but this thing saved my butt many times.

It's not huge, (4 feet by 3 feet), but your spotter can move it under you or you could buy two.

It also has great backpack straps for lugging it to the boulders.

Overall, great quality and easy on the wallet!

My son LOVES this thing, and thinks its the coolest that he can carry it around like a backpack. It is a bit hard though, and he is hoping that it may get softer over time. Still very happy though, and we are stoked for that!
