No item breakage whatsoever even if made of plastic. Just follow the instructions. I ended up NOT using the other brands of succion cups I had bought just in case, some of which were expensive, heavy and made of metal with thumb-piston!
UPDATE:
Having now (saving $$$) changed 26 (twenty-six total) thermal double pane heavy glass windows , squares, rectangles and irregular shaped 4-sided polygons(cathedral ceiling windows) ALL BY MYSELF this fall with 2 HODs, I have full confidence in this product and highly recommend it. The two HODs that I have bought have performed flawlessly. They look cheap but don't be fooled!!! To have one for the left hand and one for the right hand is the best scenario with large windows. It's also some kind of insurance if something would happen (nothing to me). I hesitate very much to lend them to my cousin since I like them so much and don't want to loose them. Irreplaceable! They are so affordable I'll let him buy his own! The largest double window I changed was measuring 72 inches x 30 inches (patio door window-no wood frame), each pane was 4mm thick bound by the aluminum spacer. It was very heavy, still was not a problem to pull window out and carry around to my car for disposal at the dump (foggy window after 35 years-window seal failed). My physical strength was more the limiting factor, not the HOD sturdiness and vacuum, which has NEVER EVER failed me! I have not dropped anything and I am not a professional installer. Was doing this for the first time, 26 windows! Will do the rest next fall.
Our deck has a 1.5" thick, 32" square clear acrylic floor panel that is flush with the decking. That panel lets light through to the basement window below it. To remove that heavy panel for periodic cleaning, I bought two of these HODs. Handle On Demand is actually a pretty good name, because they made lifting the 50 lb. acrylic (plastic) utterly simple. The rubber suction pads left no marks, even on something as scratch-prone as plastic.
Each HOD comes in a study cardboard box that can be used to store it when not in use and to keep the tool clean. For the first time, my wife can safely lift the glass table-tops from our living room tables so she can clean underneath.
Things to consider:
- If you're frequently moving things such as big pieces of plate glass, consider buying professional grade vacuum cups, as they typically have greater capacity than this tool. E.g., do a Google Shopping search on: vacuum cup
- This type of vacuum cup tool is designed to lift things with a flat surface. If lifting curved items, such as a car windshield, this isn't the right tool. For examples of the type of tool to use in that case, Google Shopping search on: double swivel vacuum cups
- This is the least expensive lifting tool of this type you're likely to find. I.e., professional versions of this tool have much stronger aluminum handles, but are significantly more costly. To see more expensive lifters, search Amazon on: double vacuum cup

This FastCap HOD may be OK for light and flat surfaces and appropriate for something you don't mind dropping. And I discovered that suction cups tools have a psychology component to them - once you suddenly drop something - it is very hard to muster enough courage to try lifting it again. I regret this purchase.
