We purchased this playhouse back in October, 2007 for my then 15 month old daughter. I was looking for a good playhouse at a reasonable price and settled on this one because Amazon was selling it (at the time) at a considerable discount, much lower than it retails for in stores. I also liked that this playhouse has an attached floor. No other playhouse (even the pricy ones) have an attached floor.
After 20 minutes to set it up (drill required), my daughter was in and out and all around the house and is still loving it 5 months later. My daughter loves opening and shutting the door and shutters, plays peek-a-boo, rings the doorbell, pretends she is talking on the phone, hides her toys and just hangs out inside.
This house will grow with her, at 32" tall she still has about 12" of head space. It is the perfect size for her and a playmate or two. Her cousins ages 4 and 7 love playing in it when they are over. My daughter even can convince my husband to go inside and sit on the floor with her (although it is a tight fit for an adult!)
The large open windows allow light inside as well as parental visibility. The door bell and phone add realistic sounds and the molded in seats and table are great. It is well made and will last for many, many years and children. Another plus, the colors are very pleasing and match other step 2 "Naturaly Playful" products.
An excellent value, worth more than what it retails for. Don't bother paying more for another playhouse, this one has it all.

Great Playhouse with a Great Price
As the weather began to warm, I found myself in the market for some outside toys for my toddler. I thought a playhouse will be fun. We have now been using it exclusively outside for the last few months. It has brought great joy to my daughter and to her friends. I think we will have many years of use with it!Things I really like:- Ease of putting it together- The doorbell! How adorable and fun! I think this is my daughter's favorite feature.- The movable shutters that have openings on the top and in the middle, allowing for little hands to maneuver them.- The height of the roof. This house has accommodated children up to 5 years old. It may also work for older/taller kids, but I haven't tried that yet.- The grill that is open to both those in the house and those not in the house. It's a great way to get some use out of this without actually being inside.- The clock and fireplace sticker decals. They make the cottage look so cozy, homey, and inviting. Super cute!- It is lightweight, so it is easy to drag around the yard if we want to move it to another spot. But because we keep it on the grass, we always be sure to put it back to its "home" spot so that we only have one spot of dead grass!Things that are not my favorite:- The floor. I actually wanted a playhouse with a floor because I felt like it would be kinder to my daughter's feet. I have been finding this floor to be a nuisance. While there are 4 drainage holes, I haven't found them to do the best job in draining rain water. Perhaps they are just too small (picture is included), but we have to tip it over in order to clear out the standing water. Also, the floor can be very slippery if your feet are wet. My daughter has fallen many times.- The lack of accessories, especially the missing plants to fill the planter box. One of the reasons I wanted this particular house was because of how cozy it appeared in the pictures. I was especially excited about the greens. Unfortunately, none of the accessories are included. It does say this on the box, HOWEVER, for some reason I thought that meant just the grill accessories. I thought the greens were part of the house. The house looks really empty without them.- The shutters that don't have openings on the bottom. I wish this feature (that I really like) went all the way around. My daughter has gotten her fingers stuck in the bottom a few times.- The mail slot is basically useless because it is so small. We don't have anything that can fit through it.
