So far, however, I've been pleasantly surprised. This can opener installed without a problem, and my cabinets have a 3/4" overhang. I didn't have to attach any wood, or build any kind of spacer contraption either, like other people described. Instead, I just used two of the included plastic spacers that came in the package. There were several sizes, so I used the 1/2" spacer together with the 1/4" spacer and it worked perfectly. I'll attach a photo so you can see exactly what it looks like.
The paper template that came in the box was a huge help figuring out exactly where to drill the holes. Honestly, without that template I probably would have drilled a dozen holes in my cabinet and still not gotten it right...
As for functionality, it does just what it's supposed to - it opens cans. If you've ever owned any other electric can opener, you won't have a problem using this one. Also, the bag opener works well for bags of pretzels, potato chips, Doritos, etc. Other types of bags don't do so well, though. The bottle opener works fine, too. Nothing fancy or unusual there.
The knife sharpener seems to work well enough, but all of my kitchen knives are already pretty sharp so I can't really tell yet if it's doing a good job. One piece of advice, though, is to use the sharpener slowly to avoid scratching the edges of the unit. Pull the knife straight out, rather than at a downward angle, or else the blade will be cutting the trim as you pull it through.

The mounting instructions are very easy to follow. You will need a drill, drill bits, and a screw driver to install it.
I have read where people are having trouble with the spacers. I had no trouble at all. It may be because I have fairly updated cabinets. I have about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch drop to the rail of my cabinets, and the spacers included worked perfect to make this can opener line up perfectly with the bottom of the cabinet rail.
It opens cans with ease. I've had no trouble opening small (tomato paste) cans, typical (15.5 oz) cans, are the much larger cans. This hold them up and opens them with no problems.
My girlfriend loves the fact that you can close the "lid' on this can opener so it leaves a slick look in the kitchen when not in use (which, let's face it...it's not in use like 99.99999999999999999% of the time.) I had considered just taking the "lid" off, but she won't let me. Ugh, she's got me trained!
The power cord is long enough to reach the nearest outlet in most kitchens. The bottle opener works just fine and doesn't adjust the can opener's position (meaning it doesn't slide from side to side when applying pressure to the can opener.) The knife sharpener I've used once, just so I could write a comprehensive review, and it worked just fine.
Let's face it, most mountable can openers are very expensive (in the neighborhood of $100+.) So purchasing this one was a no-brainer, and it works with absolutely no flaws! Score one for the consumer!
Long story shorts, I would recommend this product to friends and family
