Now I know what you're thinking, how as an oily skin type do I think this is great powder? Well, let me explain to you why.
I'm in my 30's now and as such, my skin is changing and I find I need more hydration than what I did when I was in my 20's. Sad but true. I also live in a very dry climate, so I can't have a bunch of things on my face that are mattifying or I will look like a big cakey mess.
After trying many powders and failing to find a true favorite, I decided that now was a good time to try something completely different so I looked for more "hydrating" finish products and came across this one.
Wow!
For the first time since my early 20's, my skin actually looks so youthful! Not only that, but I'm not turning into a huge oily mess 1 hour in. All other powders had me looking shiny after just a small amount of time. I never realized that powders could suck so much moisture out of my skin until trying this one from L'oreal.
So, if you're an oily skin type and are hesitant to try this, I say just dive in. Especially if you're living in a dry climate, this will help with skin texture issues. Plus if you're past your 20's like me, you might need something like this to help keep the skin looking its best.
I'm pleasantly surprised by this powder and I will keep purchasing as long as L'oreal keeps making it.

I prefer loose face powder vs. pressed powder, so I was glad to find this from L'Oreal, one of my fave cosmetic brands. The powder is easy to apply, goes on well, has almost the perfect level of sheerness (could be a little more so), and it stays on my face a long time.

Unfortunately, however, this powder has a SCENT! Why on earth would a company add a fragrance to face powder? Everyone likes different scents, so you're always going to turn people off who would otherwise buy the product. Plus these days lots of folks have sensitivities that prevent them from using fragranced products, so I really hope L'Oreal removes that. In addition, I think the cost of this powder is a bit on the high side, due to the small amount in the container.

First off, I am 46, medium/fair complexion, have smooth skin (not much wrinkling thankfully), some faded freckles, I’m a little oily on my T-Zone and get occasional blemishes on my chin area.

For years and years I used Mac Studio Fix, but my skin is changing and the Mac was no longer a long-lasting matte and left me shiny and blotchy. Previously, I hadn’t used a foundation/powder combo for about 20 years because I thought it looked too heavy and made me look… well…. Powdery!

So the search began and this was the first powder I tried and needed to look no further!

Here’s my daily skin regimen…. Rose water toner, vitamin C serum, Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair moisturizer and Revlon Photoready primer. The foundation I now use is Bare Minerals BarePro in Cool Beige 10, which is complimentary with this L’Oréal powder.

Some reviewers said this powder makes them look like a ghost, but I haven’t had that problem. I dab the brush in the powder, tap off the excess, dot my face and then blend. It sets and blends my foundation and blush seamlessly. It’s lightweight but controls the oil on my t-zone… all day. It covers my blemishes without caking or drying them out. I have been in the sun and sweated and thinking my face would be a tragedy, actually still looked pretty good and I don’t need to do any touch-ups throughout the day. This definitely gives a matte finish, which is what I wanted, but if you’re looking for more of a glow finish, keep looking.

This is my new product and I thank all the reviewers for helping me choose it and hope my review will help someone else.

Love this powder that covers well, but has a light texture that doesn’t cake up in wrinkles. I especially like the Deep color because even tho I am a white person, I live in Florida where I spend lots of time outside. As it looks very dark in the jar, it doesn’t seem to look as dark when applied. It might be because it is a light weight powder. It also has a nice finish to it that isn’t too shiny, yet looks naturally moist like you aren’t wearing anything.
