Product Description

About Harris

Problem solving has a long heritage at PF Harris. In 1924, two years after its founding, the company tackled the Calvin Coolidge White House, which had been overrun for years by roaches and water bugs. Harris’s product was so successful in eliminating the scourge that he was described on the front page of the Washington Times as a "vermin slayer" who has just fought a decisive, winning battle with a horde of cockroaches which infested the lower regions of the Executive Mansion.

Over the course of the next few months Harris took “his final feast” to dozens of government buildings, including the Senate Office Building, the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court and Walter Reed Hospital. Success followed success: Each superintendent of the various buildings was highly satisfied with the results.

The company today stays nimble enough to respond to changing market demands, leading the way in the development of numerous products, including natural insect repellents like Swamp Gator and Swamp Gnat which repel biting insects without using deet. Beyond the products it sells, Harris helps customers find easy and economical solutions to pest problems through helpful labeling, instructive videos and personal advice.

It’s a brand with a reliable past and an innovative future. PF Harris is America’s oldest EPA-registered company. With more than 55 products, the company provides solutions to treat everything from roaches and bed bugs to scorpions and stink bugs.

Using Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder

Shake well before opening. Using the easy applicator, create a barrier through which cockroaches and other insects must crawl. Puff a light dusting of powder in areas such as behind refrigerators, along baseboards and in cracks and crevices where roaches have been seen. The powder contains a lure that roaches will seek out. Take measures to ensure that the powder is kept dry in order to remain effective.

Boric Acid works by interfering with the roach's digestive system. In addition, the powder will cling to the outside of the roach, helping to kill other roaches when the affected roach returns to the colony. The powder is fast acting; insects coming into contact with the boric acid will die within 72 hours.

Eliminate and Prevent Roaches

Eliminate
Liquid insecticides can be used to treat in and around the infested harborages in kitchens and bathrooms. Treat along and behind baseboards and into cracks and crevices on counters as well as under sinks. Use boric acid roach tablets in hard to reach areas under sinks, and behind refrigerators and other kitchen appliances. Roach powder can also be used behind baseboards and in locations not easily treated with liquid insecticide. Sticky traps can be used to control infestations. Place these traps next to baseboards for optimal effectiveness.

Prevent
Removing excess food scraps and limiting the availability of water in sites that are infested with cockroaches will help control these pests. Be sure to clean up spills and crumbs right away and avoid leaving food out in the open for extended periods. Seal any cracks and openings with caulk.

Carpet beetles, silverfish, ants and roaches (FKN 2020)
5 Stars
Carpet beetles, silverfish, ants and roaches (FKN 2020)
1.) Carpet beetles, we don't have carpet. I'm constantly vacuuming the couch, and floors. They climb right into the window, on any day, you might like to enjoy 70* n breezy. I did not know what kind of bug had set up camp in my fuzzy uggs. I thought it was a bed demon, 911 the pest inspector. He said, "No, you are lucky, those are beetles." Well they eat the lure, and die instantly.2.) Silverfish around here are extremely common. Most people will need a leak before they see these. We live less than a mile from a protected wetland (guess they want to grow bigger mosquitos). SF crawl off to die, but they stiffin up, and blow away, with the vacuum running. Unpleasant, but good riddance.3.) Roaches. They are Indianapolis's state bird. Kid moved up there with my desktop computer. She finished covid work at home, brought it back to me. Then her roommate informs me Indy has a horrible bug problem, and to be on the lookout. Oh dam man. I took the lid off the pc, and I saw one. I thought no big deal. I'll can it, and put a blow-torch on this sucker. I took the pc, and wrapped it up. Even so, two night later, they are all over my entertainment center. Queue depression. I bought all the nitro & combat glues, gentrol growth inhibitors, combat liquid traps, terro, and lures available. Pest guy (Do Your Own) said you must empty your home, like your moving out, place your variety of controls, killers, and traps, then move back in your home, like day one clean. I'm not messing around. I was not seeing any for 5-6 days, but that is not good enough. I bought this Harris boric acid. I spread it everywhere, baseboards, behind fridge, drilled pin holes to get it behind the walls, cabinets, and anywhere they might take refuge. I haven't seen any in 10 days. Harris has been down for 12 days. The first two days, the monsters flocked to it. I have night vision cameras. I actively am checking with a led super light too. My single family home got this child all the way to 18yrs old, & now she brings me "friends". UGH! My home is clean, because I medically am DX'd OCD. Get over thinking well, I'm clean, they'll go away. They are basically disgusting goat-shrimps. Also, do NOT smash them, or let them see you as a threat. They will drop an egg sack. I just learned this too late.I would highly recommend adding this to your cleaning/control routine. It gets the resistant linger-ers. I plan on rotating our methods, as part of regular home maintenance.5 Stars On Harris4 Stars on gentrol (doesnt stay put)4 stars on combat glue/gel (weak formula)4 stars on combat liquid "motels" (messy, plus weak formula)5 stars on Vendetta Nitro4 Stars on tainted hershey choc and terro (not rec'd for homes with small ones)3 Stars on Terro alone (roach application. MIL's ants are dead going back generations, terro took their great grand ants to glory too. Don't freak out when you see billions ants, let them eat it)3 Stars on Diatomaceous Earth (both food grade, and bargain basement)On contact Raid, mixed feelings, great for instant shutdown and aggression, not a long term solution.5 stars dawn powerwash for rage kill, and ease of use.0 stars on peppermint cotton balls, and the other 133,000 home remedies which will waste your time.

5.0 out of 5 stars German cockroach 100% Killer - The best in the market.Need to do some extra tricks (Read Below)
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020
This product does work. I git rid if the entire population 99.9 in three weeks of regular use. The rest 1% am sure I will get rid of in the coming weeks.

Just simply spreading the power on floor or in corners may not work.

But I had to do a bit more from my side, rather than just simply dispersing or spreading the powder, I spread the powder in small "trays" (the lid of the food containers we get from restaurant) .
Then I prepared a "bait" . I took some left over food, cockroach's favorite food (a little fried rice, potato french fries, oily fried fish and sugar) and mixed it with the powder.
Then I placed a little bait in the mid of the each trays . Placing it mid made sure in order to eat they had to pass through the powder around it.

I placed the trays in potential locations (kitchen, bathrooms ,dining rooms) during the night. I made sure I did clean the area and floor before I placed the tray.

This will make sure the only available food is the one in the tray in those locations.
The bait(good oily food) and powder will easily attract the german cockroachs as the lights go down
Every night they came and ate the bait as well as powder. They passed through the powder and carried home the powder and food along with it.
Next few mornings I just harvested 100s dead cockroach from tray and around the floor. Every night I gave them fresh "bait" (basically oily food with sugar mixed with PF Harris powder) and placed it in mid of tray. They should be able to get into tray and get out easily. Make sure the tray is NOT having TALl smooth surface . Better is paper tray (make one if you can ) . A pizza box is a good one for this purpose.

Some may have went back to the nest and died. They took the powder and food carried along with them to nest.

I read and researched that
The female cockroach (are usually back in nest with egg) and with babies . They ate the powder on the body of these carrier cockroachs coming back and females and babies die.
Once they all start dieing and stop getting the food they start eating the dead ones ( poisoned and having the powder on their bodies) and the rest remaining aldo die.
It will be a chain reaction and the entire population is eliminated.

The point here is you need to let the cockroach go back to the nest after it visited your tray. They will die eventually and will carry the bait and powder back home yk kill the others. Never kill (intentionally) the contaminated carrier cockroachs, let them go back to nest.

It takes more than 72 hours to see a noticeable impact so don't get discouraged or disappointed. It takes time and very slow but effective and eliminates it from the roots.

It worked for me .I have reduced it to 99.9 % for sure in last three I zm going to continue this for next one month until I achieve 100% success.
