I have a couple of suggestions that will make the process go more smoothly. While tolerances for this project are relatively broad, do not ignore them. Measure carefully and install the parts as close to tolerances possible. Drill pilot holes for all screws. It is also highly desirable, once the unit is fully assembled but before it is attached to the desk, to make some templates for each of the rails. This can easily be done on legal sized paper, one for the right-side rail and the other for the left-side rail. Keep in mind that the template you make might need to be transferred to the opposite side of the paper, because the easiest way to make the template is with the unit upside down from the way it will ultimately be installed. The distance between the rails is 23 11/16 inches. Since I was installing this unit to an existing desk that could not easily be turned over, I taped the templates to the underside of the top with the proper distance between them and drilled the necessary holes from underneath.
The screws provided for attaching the unit to the underside of the desk look to me to be ½ inch #6 wood screws or equivalent. I thought these were a little bit light for the task and upgraded them to ¾ inch #8 wood screws. I would have used heavier wood screws but the slots provided for them would have had to have been enlarged. You will need eight of these #8 wood screws. In addition, there is a middle hole which is much larger. I would suggest that you use a ¾ inch #10 or #12 wood screw in that larger hole as well. You will also need washers for these wood screws. Thus, you will need four of these screws and washers. This will lead to a much sturdier attachment to the desk.
I am very satisfied with the way things turned out. I can definitely recommend this unit to anyone who is interested in installing a very serviceable pullout keyboard tray that is quite sturdy and very reasonably priced.

It's pretty simple to put together. All you have to do is use a drill to screw in the 8 screws into the side of the tray to attach the slides. Then attach the slides to the hanging part and screw the hanging part to your desk. Simple right? Well, yes and no. Yes because if my desk was upside-down, it would be a whole lot easier. Also, you should have enough space for installation. I had about 2 inches of work space on both sides. Made it tough. For me, I used an angle screw thing that I found in the toolbox. It let me go at installing the screws to the desk at an angle. I didn't have enough extenders to reach the screw so that's what I did.
After the installation, I checked to see how sturdy it was. It's pretty darn sturdy. I rested (if that's a word) my elbow on the tray with my hand on my head. I also applied a decent amount of force down. It's not going to fall. The sliders work well. Overall, this was a great buy. Nice heavy, durable tray for my keyboard. I recommend being handy with tools. Other than the installation, everything is great. Maybe my only complaint is the amount of oil/grease/lubricant they apply to the slider is a bit excessive.
I will say that the cherry finish looks very nice (note that it's laminate not real cherry, of course).
