It would be nice to have a method to keep the Allen wrench on the stand. Other than that, can't complain. it is true, that sometimes it would be nice if the base were larger, but there ARE holes in the base such that it could be attached to a larger piece of ply or something. The price is not bad either. Most of the other stands available are at least 1/2 the price, and are worthless. I now have two of these, plus some more that I made also. Absolutely necessary in a shop.
So I found this roller and like the design and the weight, it's heavy and stays put. The clamps for height adjustment and the head swivel are quite effective. Overall I think this is the best single roller I've ever used, I'll buy another one.
Pros: heavy and remains adjusted wherever you set it. Roller seems to be very good quality.
Cons: you need a Metric Allen wrench (included) to make a height adjustment - this can be easily lost. I cut a short piece of aluminum tube and taped it to the stand to hold the key. Problem solved.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely.
I just received mine yesterday and am pleased with the heavy steel castings for the base and roller portion, but the telescopic tubes are just not up to par on a stand at this price point. I measured the thickness of the tubes and came up with about .085" depending on where I measured.
Its not so much the thin tubing that bugs me, it's that there's no reinforcement in the areas that are retained by a set screw. Both outer and inner tubes rely on set screws to attach the roller and base and it doesn't take much torque to distort the thin walled tubing.
I machined down some .250" steel tubing on the lathe and pounded and tacked a small 1" piece down both outer and inner tubes to help resist distortion when those set screws are cranked tight. It's pretty stout now, but I still have to question their claim that these will hold 1700 lbs. The cast steel upper and base portion would easily handle that kind of abuse, but the thin telescoping tubes- I'm not convinced.
Another area that could use improvement is to make the clamping collar a tool free design. I plan to do that in the coming weeks and also plan to add threaded leveling feet to the base.

This stand is very solid, fairly heavy, and doesn't shift under the weight of the stock. I had to cut mine down a couple inches on the end of the column to make it low enough to work with the height of the saw's table, but that's not really a big deal since I'm already using the band saw to cut things. Other folding stands I looked at would have been much more difficult to shorten due to the hinged designs. I was surprised how quickly it arrived and put together. Assembly is just a matter of putting the column on the stand and the roller on the column and tightening the 2 screws. The allen key for this is included in the package as well, which is a nice touch.
I'm probably going to end up buying another stand to support extra long pieces that would be cut in half and would need support on both sides of the saw.

Second stand checked for problems: the roller has one bearing fitted off centre. That is useless on a stand that is intended to feed timber in to a planing machine. Wobble on the roller is 1/16”.
Bearings are metal shielded, not protected by a rubber seal. That means clogged bearings in no time in a dusty workshop environment, which is the norm for woodworking.
Further details after some use.
