Bought these as a gift for my husband. I had purchased an $80 matching set of Cobalt Ratcheting Wrenches when I came across these. These seem nearly identical and for about a third of the price. Both sets are made in Taiwan and may very well be from the same manufacturer. After a few short uses, these held up just fine and I returned the Cobalt set and saved a good bit of cash.

I wasn't worried too much about the quality of these pieces as im already a user of stanley and they've maintained a solid base for a long time now, doesn't matter anymore what asian country they're coming from. I just used these for the first time to replace my belts and alternator, cuts time and frustrations in half. Try to use a 3/8 u-joint or socketer in a "really" confined space like on an overtorqued 14mm nut facing a cars frame with just 1 inch of clearance? you'll just strip the nut using any open wrench and take up time using a box version, a lot of time. It takes quite a few turns with a box wrench to torque and remove stubborn fasteners off a corroded bolt. Especially one so long and threaded your constant repositioning of the box wrench is as much of a pain as the nut its trying to unthread. Your having to make what feels like a 100 1/8th increment turns using said wrench because of a certain car engines "compartmentalized interference". They make ratcheting wrenches for stuff like this!

Very solid wrenches. You can tell just by playing with the ratcheting end that they are well built. Zero play in the mechanism. And it takes hardly any movement for the ratchet to work. I bought these specifically for working in tight places in my car, and I think I did as well as possible without spending a ton of money.

If you are wondering, these are not reversible, but obviously you can turn it over. I actually prefer this due to the fact that the switch is often easily pushed during regular use with other ratcheting box ends I've used.
