A Stearns Infant Classic Series Vest helps protect little swimmers at the beach or on the boat. The US Coast Guard-approved design is specially-fitted for infants under 30 lbs. A rescue handle allows adults to easily move the infant from the water or the boat, and it has one adjustable chest belt, a zipper and an adjustable leg strap for a tight and secure fit. Durable nylon construction and PE flotation foam, along with webbed straps, will allow you to use it season after season.

Perfect for your beginner swimmer
We bought this for our 14 month old, who has not spent anytime in the water. As soon as we put her in the lake the life vest put her right on her back and there she floated safely. She didn't care for floating on her back as she wanted to see what everyone was doing but it did its job. We took her out on the water 2 other times and she loved it. My daughter weighs 14 lbs and is small for her age. We were able to tighten the vest to fit snug and give her support. The vest did come up a little high when she sat down on the paddle board, and so we pulled it down the best we could. Someone a little taller would fit a little better, but its not made for sitting its for floating. It made us feel confident to have her on the water with us knowing the vest worked. We recommend these vest to help keep your little one safe on the water.

This is definitely a life preserver and not designed for recreational swimming. It works so well that we can’t keep him from flipping onto his back. I would absolutely recommend this product for the purpose for which I purchased it. I have a six month old son and it's important to me that he find water fun and get used to swimming early on since we're coastal folks. I bought this for him and it fit great. The zipper is a tiny bit fiddly because it's plastic but not enough to cause any problems. It fit snugly and the straps weren't uncomfortable. I put my son in the water and he had a fabulous time floating on his back (supervised, of course!). I can't attest to how this would work in choppy water but if you read the instructions, it's designed for calm waters (lakes, pools, etc). I had him in it and was guiding him around by the handle on the back for some time. he never fell or tipped, even when he got splashy and wriggly. He stayed on his back the whole time. It also rights itself nicely. I would 'stand' him in the water and he would float on to his back again without his face getting submerged. This is the best money we've spent and it's much more cost effective than some of the swimming aids on sale for tiny infants. Again, I can't guarantee this will work as a life preserver in lakes or pools. I'm just sharing my experiences but my son stayed face up and his face was never submerged, even when moving a lot and being buffered.

I see way too many TikToks about people putting their babies in car seats on boats. Spoiler alert: car seats are not floatation devices and in an accident, you've just pinned your little one into a sinking seat. This infant life vest is perfect for boating safely with your baby. I highly recommend practice wearing it a few times before you need to go out on the water (eg. in the bathtub) so baby is used to wearing it. Very well made and comfortable for baby to wear.
