easy and fun to use... it works!
Life is a bowl of cherries with this cherry pitter (sorry, I could not resist the bad pun). It makes me want to go out and buy more cherries. I tested it on a 1/2 lb of farmers market cherries and the device works. You put the cherry in the little tunnel. You squeeze the handle and the pitter train goes through the tunnel pushing out the pit which lands on the ground (or bowl or trash can) and you are left with a perfectly pitted cherry in the tunnel. If you hold it over a bowl, you can get the delicious cherry juice and just drop the pits in another bowl. It was fun and satisfying to use. I could see using it for a lot of cherries with no problem. I'd say it had a 90% success rate. With some misshapen cherries, the pit didn't come right out but it was easy to position them on a second try and BOOM there goes the dreaded pit. I love cherries so much I don't know how I could live without this. I have not tried it on olives because I'm not a big olive eater. I can't wait to buy more cherries so I can use this. It's kind of zen to sit and pit them, like I'm in the 1800s on a farm. LIKE.
