Few years old-still great
I read a few poor reviews but decided to try it cause of it’s positive aspects (ie-bendable, round soft handle). I waited a few years and none of the bad predictions happened. I love it and if something happened to it tomorrow I would repurchase this.

This back scratcher is just what I needed. A dodgy shoulder makes it hard to reach those itchy spots in the center of my back. With this flexible tool, I can easily adjust it to get at just the spot I need. Earlier reviews mentioned that the device was hard to bend and/or wouldn't hold the bend. They must have fixed that, because mine works just fine. It is easy to adjust and stays in the shape I choose until I bend it again. No problems at all. And, if I want to put lotion on my back, I just use an elastic band to fasten a soft cloth over the "hand", and it works like a charm. Then, I can just remove and wash the cloth. All and all, I am quite pleased with this product, especially at this price.

It has been many years since I purchased a product which performed its function as well as this one does. The mock hand that performs the scratching is perfect. It provides sufficient friction to relieve the most persistent itch, but its rounded, soft plastic will not break the skin. The handle is nothing less than a marvel of engineering. It bends easily to any shape the user needs and holds that shape even when subjected to the resistance of the mock hand against the back. The firmness of the handle's material, notwithstanding its light weight and flexibility, allows its length to be almost twice that of a typical back scratcher. The added length translates into a huge improvement in comfort. The user does not have to bend his arm behind his head to get the mock hand into position as required by all the competitive products I have used.

Perhaps someday someone will design a device that will anticipate and eliminate back itches before they occur. Until then, the Reach N Scratch Bendable Back Scratcher is and will likely remain the best product available for obtaining relief from annoying back itches.

I bought this for my girlfriend and she likes it a lot. Initially she was repulsed by the rubber smell. I have dealt with the smell problem with other products before. Just set it outside in the sun for a couple of days and the rubber smell will dissipate. Other than that it works great and I don't get pestered to scratch this spot and that.

I bought this for my grandmother because she's not very flexible, so she needed a back scratcher that was. Six months or so after purchase, it's still doing its job just fine, with no signs of degredation so far. I think a lot of the reviews that are saying the hand falls off on first use must've received defective products, because although my grandma isn't the strongest person in the world, the times I've used the back scratcher it has felt very sturdy even when applying suitable pressure for the itchiest scratches.

Another thing I liked is that it holds its shape very well. I was worried that it would be so bendy that it wouldn't stay static when scratching, but that hasn't been the case at all.

Still, if you want something that will last for years and mobility isn't a concern, I'd recommend a thick wooden or metal scratcher. This one serves its intended purpose very well, but just from what other reviews have said, it seems more likely to break or have the squishy padding tear than a solid piece product would.

This is truly the best back scratcher ever made. I have health issues with my spine as well as "frozen shoulder" which makes it very difficult to reach any part of my back. I picked up a telescoping back scratcher from a nearby retailer, and was frustratingly disappointed with the still limited amount of back I could get to. Within a month it broke as well. The Reach N Scratch has proved to be both sturdy and flexible, able to reach anywhere I needed it. I just purchased a second one for my husband so he can stop stealing
mine!

Reach N Scratch Bendable Back Scratcher, from Kinsman Enterprises Inc.
For the itch you just can't scratch?
Maybe, or that just might be another kind of itch altogether. For those itches you can deal with using a back scratcher, this will do the trick. It is bendable in any direction and will hold that bend until you bend it in another direction. It can be used to scratch your back, your foot, or any other place you need to reach for a good scratch. The only complaint I have is that it should also have a wide scratcher on the back of the hand or on the other end of the handle to enable you to scratch a wider area.

I bought this as a B'day present for my mom, who is unable to walk or use her left arm. I have not given it to her yet, but have no doubt she will love it. She constantly complains about her back being itchy and not being able to reach it.
I do have one criticism, however, and it's slight but seemingly obvious: The "hand" part has a "thumb". The "thumb" is shorter than the "fingers".
You can't really see it in the picture, but the "hand" has curved fingers with a stubby thumb.

A.: It doesn't actually have to look like a hand to someone who is looking for something with which to scratch one's back.
B.: The "thumb" is a functionally useless bit of plastic which could have easily been molded as a fifth "finger".
C.: People do understand that it is not actually a "hand".

That being said, your product actually works as advertised. Well done. Now go make something else more practical.

I don't understand some things that sometimes. For instance why did anybody not think of making a flexible back stretcher before? It just easier in general to anyone. In particular the people with arthritis and such. also some of the negative reviews in my opinion or so off-base. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the "hand" could be made a bit better, more wide, more scratch ability, less flimsy feeling, etc. However that is not a dealbreaker. As far as I can see this is the best flexible back stretcher on the market. If they tweak it it would be Nirvana epitomized.
