I was a little worried when ordering these because some reviews said they were thin like easter eggs & poor quality. That is not the case. I was thrilled when I opened them! The plastic is much thicker than an easter egg. Yes, they are still hollow plastic toys so they will break if you step on them, but so will the much higher priced wooden ones. I know this from experience. My 5 year old son and 4 year old niece love playing with a wooden set of nesting dolls my oldest daughter had but some of the halves are missing due to breakage. When I saw this set I had to get it for my son, it's very cute. The halves stay together nicely. The set is a little smaller than our wooden set but it just makes it easier for my son to carry around and the halves open & close much smoother than the wood. The packaging was nice, I was able to easily pop out the dolls, fill them with little toys, and pop them back into the box for an extra special treat when my son opened them.

Great for a mechanical kid

We got this for our 21 month old at Christmas, and have found that it is well-built and fun for him to put together.
It's still a challenge enough to be interesting to him, but not so hard to figure out that he gets frustrated. He likes to hide things in the robots and act surprised when little things are still in there later.

It does not hold his attention for hours or anything, but he enjoys it and has found a few different ways to play with it, which is what we hoped to get out of this toy.

We did have to remove the smallest robot since he was pretending that it was "chapstick" and eventually put it into his mouth.

Was excited to get this for my son for christmas. But was even more dissapointed when it came. Thin plastic.. not gonna last long. And they come apart way to easily. I set it down and it opens up into a big mess. Wish it clicked closed better. Bummed out on this purchase.

False advertising, misleading product photo

The robots I received are not the ones pictured. We already own the robots that are pictured here. I ordered these as a gift for a kid who played with them at our house and wanted some. However, the ones we received are a dull gray color. The robots pictured (and the ones we already have) are painted a shiny chrome. These look and feel cheap by comparison. They're like Easter eggs. If they're going to sell these, they need to update the picture. It's false advertising.

I bought these for my 2 year old for his birthday and he loves them! So does his 4 year old sister. I might get her a different kind for her birthday. I feel these are the cutest ones though!! They may be made of plastic but I think they can endure a lot. We've had them for over a month and my son throws them and drops them on the floor a lot and none of them have been broken yet. I felt the price was ok for these. My kids play with them a couple times a week. I feel these little robots have already given my kids $13 worth of entertainment. They are easy to open/close. The smallest one is a choking hazard for kids that put things in their mouth the warning does say I believe for kids 3 and up.

My little boy neighbors loved our Russian matryoshka wooden nesting dolls, but when I was going to get them some for Christmas they were pretty pricey and I would worry about them playing with what really is a keepsake.
These little nesting dolls were perfect! The loved fitting them together, and have to figure our sizes so it is educational, engaging their brains. I did not find them flimsy as others have suggested.
Great gift and the guys loved the ninja and computer man themes.
