Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

Things I needed to do the job:
1. For my YJ tub I used 1 of these 4 bottle kits w/ Gun
2. Mixing Cup
3. Air Compressor
4. Regulator
5. Dryer for Compressor
6. Auto Paint Tape
7. Plastic Sheeting
8. Foam Ear Buds (plug screw holes)
9. Cardboard (used to block the opening to the transfer case area)
10. Paint Thinner
11. Good Quality Respirator
12. Teflon Tape to secure threads on Gun
13. Safety Glasses
14. Grinder (you could just use sand paper and elbow grease)
15. Self Etching Primer
16. Dawn Dish Soap
17. Wire Brush
18. Tack Cloth
Steps I went through with an already coated Jeep Tub:
1. Removed ALL seats, plugs, hardware, bolts… ALL OF IT
2. Sprayed out tub with water hose
3. Grinded all flaky, peeling, cracked, and exposed surfaces and scruffed up rest of existing liner
4. Blew out all I could with an air hose
5. Washed Jeep with Dawn Dish soap to remove all the oils from existing liner
6. After Dry - Cleaned with Acetone/Paint Thinner
7. Sprayed an Etching Primer (has acid to help etch and stick to metal)
8. Used Auto Paint Tape and Plastic to tape off and block off areas I didn’t want painted
9. Cleaned once again with Acetone/Paint Thinner
10. Tack Cloth
11. Checked PSI on Regulator set up Gun to spray
12. Mixed 250ml of Hardener in Bottle and shook for 2 minutes
13. Sprayed First Coat
14. Let dry for the stated 60 minutes flash time (during this time I cleaned out gun with paint thinner so it doesn’t get gunked up on the next coat since I was spraying more than 1 coat)
15. Mixed and Sprayed Second Coat
16. Remove Tape and Let Cure! Cure time according to UPOL is 2-3 days light use and 5-7 days Normal Use
Things to know...
1. If you don't have some items on hand or available this can be costly but I was fortunate to have near all the tools on hand and borrowed a compressor and regulator from a friend.
2. Invest in good tape!
3. If you are spraying in an enclosed environment use a respirator and I don't mean some cheap $0.25 mask... Get a decent Face Mask Respirator they run from about $30-40 and they will make an amazing difference. I had no idea this stuff even had an odor until I removed my mask... I had to spray in the garage due to unpredictable weather on the coast and I would have easily smogged myself out before finishing.
4. Use a dryer on your compressor if it doesn't already have one... you can find cheap disposable ones at any automotive parts store.
5. Don't lean your gun too much to the left (or right if the vent hole happens to be on that side of your gun) there is a small hole to help the bottle vent while spraying and if you tip it too much it will leak out of that hole onto your project.
6. You can gauge the texture by messing with your PSI and your distance from the area you are spraying.
7. DON'T PREMIX ALL THE BOTTLES! Once the hardener is added to the paint bottles you only have so long to spray.
8. I recommend getting a mixing cup and using it to measure out the hardener… I love the logic behind the system being a mix, point, shoot but the reality is the bottles are black and it’s a little tough to see that line you are suppose to fill the bottle to…
9. While this is a spray system if you check U-POL there are directions for using this as a roll on application as well as buying tintable kits so you can get custom colors and they even offer a silica sand that can be mixed into the bottles if you need a non slick/gripping surface.
10. It can be sprayed in any direction as long as you are getting a fairly even coat and good solid coverage. Basically it isn’t finicky!
11. If you get it on your skin try to clean it up sooner rather than later… when this stuff dries it’s near impossible to wash off.
YOU CAN DO IT... It really is a simple application! I have never shot paint out of a gun in my life but this went as smooth as one could’ve hoped! The outcome looks fantastic and I am very happy with the final result. Photos attached of Before, Prepped, and After I finished spraying.
Good Luck!

Recommend laying a couple thin coats and then for the very last coat stand WAY back and overspray to blend everything . Mine looks great and super consistent. Holding up to being outside constantly.
1) Raptor line skid plates
2) Raptor line rock sliders, rear bumper, rear spare wheel
3) Raptor line roof-rack, roof, roof plastic
4) Raptor line front bumper, hood, sides of body following wheel-wells and Grocery cart protector
Step 1 =Complete
A) Shrockworks radiator, engine, transmission skid plates raptor lined.
B) Process used:
1) Lime-away toilet cleaner to remove rust from skids (works like CLR but is a gel so it stays in place), left overnight, then scrubbed with green kitchen scratch-pad
2) 35 grit sand paper on belt sander, wire wheel on angle grinder to further remove corrosion.
3) U-Pol Products 0776 ACID#8 Etch Primer painted on with paint brush (this is light gray color, throw away brush when done)
4) bought 0.7mil paint plastic sheets ( 5 x 9ft*12ft at Home Depot for $9)
5) New compressor 4-gal, 3.6 cfm @ 40, easily fast enough compressor for this job.
6) Add 1-cup of hardner to liter bottle of raptor liner, shake for 2 minutes, then screw the bottle directly into the shultz gun
7) Spray at 40-70 PSI, I used about 60 and was happy with consistant small pattern spray. Spray from about 18" distance in sweeping motion like painting.
8) Sprayed material (Black) contrasts the (light gray) primer, so you can see you pattern and coverage
9) Front and back of 3 skids, roughly 20 square ft of coverage was a little light for 1 liter of material. Kit came with 4 liter bottles, but I figured coverage was good enough for the under mounted skid plates that will not be seen, unless I roll my vehicle on the next Moab trip!
10) Cleaned gun by pouring acetone through it and over it, very messy, I think I may use a bucket to catch and soak rather than using sink.
What I learned:
A) Respirator = $30 save yourself from the fumes
B) paint coveralls = $8, save you clothes and skin
C) disposable Nitrile 6 Mil Gloves $15 for 100 pack .. 2 days later I still cannot get this stuff off my hands and fingernails completely.
