I've been using the Pony Pump since June, 2014, and it has worked well enough in that it does allow me to get the beer out of the keg. I've used it on 5-gal torpedo kegs from my local brewer, and its main benefit is the low profile, which for me means that it can go in the basement beer fridge and fit underneath the top shelf. There is just enough room to reach under the top shelf and pump a few times to start the beer flow from the keg.
However, there is one main difference in the Bronco pump design which makes a huge difference in its daily use. The Pony pump relies on tapered plastic pangs on its connector to move the pump downward and open the ball valve on the keg. The Bronco pump has a lever to open the ball valve. This makes a HUGE difference in the everyday use of each pump.
Many times since 2014, I've installed the Pony pump onto a keg and had the ball valve remain closed, so no beer, or had the ball valve open just a little bit. So the pump was difficult to pump and didn't introduce much air into the keg, making beer flow very slow. Uninstall and try again, sometimes several times before getting a good connection between the pump and the ball valve. And doing this process when I've just arrived home with a shaken keg? Forget about it! Beer spray all over the place if I don't get it just right.
The Bronco pump solves these problems with the lever. It's easy to twist smoothly into place, then use the lover to lower the center of the connector to open the ball valve. No beer spray, no need to reseat the pump and try again. It works great.
Its down side is that it's a bit taller and for me requires that I remove that top shelf in the beer fridge. But this is worth the ease and convenience of the Bronco pump. It's so much nicer than the Pony I just do without that top shelf.
I still use the Pony when needed, if we have a party and want two kegs. To its credit it still works after 3 years and quite a few kegs. But using the Pony makes me appreciate the Bronco all over again.
The pressure release valve is very useful for depressurizing the keg. My friends and I had our keg in the back of a truck and traveled over miles of bumpy gravel roads to go camping. Once we unloaded, thanks to the pressure release, we were drinking non-foamy beer within 30 minutes.
Tap seems very well made. Much higher quality than the standard rental tap from the store. If you want to purchase your own tap, and obviously you should, I'd recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting this one.
Update:
Loaned this tap to my friend for a frat party. After the party the tap disappeared. For the next 2 months it traveled around the college, popping up in kegs at parties all over campus. I had no choice but to attend as many parties as possible in the hope of coming across my illusive tap, however, I was always one keg behind. Finally I was able to locate my tap at a graduation party in the middle of Main Street and I brought it home.
I estimate that the tap was used on an average of 2 kegs a week over those two months. That comes out to 2640 beers. All that pumping and this baby still works flawlessly. Love it.

First, it is designed so that it doesn't spray when you install it. You screw it down into the opening at the top of the keg, then pull the handle down to actually tap it. It's a very clean, very easy way to do it and I'm surprised more pumps aren't made this way.
It does come with good instructions. The Taprite web site doesn't have a download for them but they are included.
The pressure release valve is a great addition. It seems like no one knows how to pump properly so it's great to be able to release the pressure when someone over pumps. If you start to pour and it's foamy, just press the valve button about half way and wait for it to release (wait for the hissing to stop). Then start a pour and pump to the correct pressure.
