First off the instructions are printed out in very small letters so I didn't even bother reading them. Instead I just used the diagrams as a guide, think IKEA. IT took about 45 minutes to an hour total. this included having to unscrew one part I had accidently put in backwards. So all together pretty simple to put together.
As far as the hold not aligning, I didn't run into that problem. There were some points where the bolt would not go in easily but jiggling the bar a little eased the tension and allowed the bolt to go through with no problem. One thing you do want to make sure of is to not tighten everything until you have all the bolts in place. This might have led to some peoples frustration with this since you have to tighten them pretty tightly, it won't allow for any angle correction.
The quality of the paint is not the best, it chipped and scratched as I was putting it together but it's a stand for a sand bag, so I really don't care if it has a few scratches.
It's pretty sturdy and balanced as long as you have it on level surface. The floor in my garage is a little uneven so I bought a padded mat to put underneath so it levels out.
You can put this together solo, though you may want some help with getting the speed bag platform onto the bar, it was only a little awkward. (Will edit later with some pictures)
After the installation is complete, the stand was exactly what I was looking for. Very sturdy and good quality.
There are a lot of pieces to put together but I was impressed with the orderly, easy to understand instructions. This stand came with all of the hardware necessary and with wrenches to aid in the assembly. You want to make sure that you assemble this bag stand where you're going to use it for several reasons: First, it takes up a large space once assembled (Everlast suggests 4' x 6' with a ceiling height of at least 7'3". But, since you have to move around the pieces during the process, I suggest you give yourself more floor space than that.
It took me about two hours to put it together myself. Everlast recommends two people. (If I had it do over again I'd listen to Everlast!) Also, even though Everlast says that all the tools you need to assemble the thing are included (which is true), you'll want to have a mallet, a socket set, a wrench set and perhaps a small adjustable wrench. There are so many nuts and bolts to fasten that the work will go much faster with the few professional tools that I mentioned. The only snag I ran into during the assembly process was some holes didn't line up properly on one of the base tubes. Luckily, I happen to own a Dremel tool and was able to grind the holes to make it work. (This was really minor, as anyone who has ever put together a mass-produced metal thing with lots of holes can tell you. It's almost expected!)
Okay - the stand is put together! How does it look and how well does it function?
IT LOOKS GREAT! The actual metal stand is very well made and appears to be sturdy. There are 3 posts to add weight plates to keep it stable once the bags are in place. They recommend 75 lbs. of weight. The Mikester recommends more if you got it!
As far as the functionality: This is why I took away a "star" in the rating. Although I enjoy hitting the heavy bag, I LOVE speed bag work. It's the main reason I bought the thing! The speed bag platform is kind of "cheesy" (it's lightweight particle board) and vibrates way too much and the swivel is very cheaply made. As a matter of fact, the swivel broke off after about 5 minutes into my first hard session.
Reading the description of the stand and the reviews when I was first considering this item and, being somewhat familiar with heavy bag/speed bag stands in general, I wasn't too surprised by this. For the money, the metal stand by itself is worth the purchase price. To replace the swivel that broke, I ordered and installed Everlast's Pro Swivel (#4444). If you're buying this stand, save yourself the trouble and order a quality swivel right off the bat. Then just switch it out during assembly.
As for the lightweight speed bag platform: until I can find or build a quality hardwood platform, I placed a 40 lb. bag of sand on top of the platform that the unit came with. This eliminates a good deal of the vibration and aids in the "return" of the speed bag.
All things considered, I'm very pleased with this purchase!

It's build solid, but does move around (slightly) when you are going full berserker - I have 100lbs bag on it with 90lbs on front pegs and 90lbs on the back peg. I have yet to buy the speed bag for it so I can't really comment on that, it does looks a little flimsy though.
The only minor issue I have with it is how low the bag hangs, I'd like it to be a little higher. Right now if I'm hitting the top of the bag (someone's face) it sits at like 5'7, or 5'8. I'd like it to be higher than that.
If you are looking for a great way to work out at home, this is a great option. Get after it fellas!
As far as stands go, this does the trick. I don't regret buying this.
PS I like to say thank you I got an extra get from them set of hand wraps they sent thank you very much for the extra hand wraps.

Convenient two in one.
First time training on speed bag, a lotta fun and a challenge.
Now the cons
-need a lot of weights to keep the stand down still when hitting the heavy bag
-speedbag swivel that comes with the stand is a piece of crap
Btw here's an idea Everlast.
Attach a pull up bar where the heavy bag is hanging;)
You're welcome.
