Sit up or sit back and recline it's up to you but its soooo comfortable.
All it was missing was a cup holder for my adult beverage. But the pockets held a water bottle just fine.
This held up to a week of relaxed and active floating at the lake. Even held up to the kids climbing all over it while I was trying to relax in it. And being tossed around the the back of the truck with a load of firewood. So much better than a traditional river tube, no worries of it getting popped and I didnt have to reinflate it all week - not once.
It is strong it held my husband who is 340 pounds with no issue. It held me with a kid on my lap.
This thing is great.
UPDATE: Almost a year later and about 6 camping trips and it is still going strong. Only had to re-inflate it once and that seemed like more of an altitude change issue than the raft itself. Great buy, going to get another.
The placement of the air fill connector is a very inconvenient It should at least have some sort of cover. Every time i want to fill it i have to unload and reload the contents of that pocket. I am not sure what the correct connectors are. I just use a old spark plug boot and hold in place the best I can. The lap net is secured up front by way of the cross member and the rear is held in place by Velcro, and it ALWAYS lets go.. This simply does not work. The inside perimeter of the float has no straps , no buckles , d-rings, so my lap net just hangs loose in the back. there should be hook type connectors to hold it firmly in place. The d-rings added around the inside also would give someplace to attached the lanyards i have on some of my equipment in case I drop it . The top of the backrest appears to be part of the air bladder but it is not. to get this section to fill out you must stuff it with something or insert another air bladder. I then use the full height of back and head rest.
I would highly recommend this fishing float to all interested parties. I have seen so many incredible things fishing from these tubes. It's all different when you are slowed down and have to really look at stuff. I call it fishing in detail. Sunrises and sunsets take on an entirely different appearance from a fishing tube.
