It was easy to assemble. The bike comes 80% assembled. So most people shouldn't have a problem.
They will need their own tool and grease since it is not provided. The bike was a present for my wife. She said that it is comfortable to ride. This bike is actually built good for the price. My wife didn't need a expensive bike like my bikes but I also didn't want to get her a Walmart bike. After researching Firmstrong was rated in the top 5 for Lady cruiser bikes. My wife like the color scheme and design so Firmstrong was the brand.
The bike did have a slightly bent spoke also it was loose. Not the company fault cause the did a great job in packaging the bike. Some were along the line with the delivery company the outside package was damage. Contacted Firmstrong ,sent pictures. Tom in customer service said sorry about the rim. He said that a new rim would be sent. It was sent out that day. I would recommend this bike for anyone looking for a good looking ,sturdy bike to crusie around on.

Here's what you need to put this bike together: a small Phillip's screwdriver, a 6mm hex key, a small pliers, and a socket set that includes the 15mm size (not all do! check). Additionally, you'll need a little bike grease when putting parts together. If you can borrow some, do it; you don't need much.

The tools you need to assemble the bike should be made clear at Amazon (there IS a list on the box), because I didn't have half this stuff and had to buy it, which delayed using the bike AND cost me more than I wanted to spend.

Is it easy to assemble? Once you have all the tools, yes. Took me about an hour, because I was methodical about it. How does it ride? Very smooth, though the front wheel is looser than I'd like. Additionally: I'm 67 and getting stiff. Lifting my leg OVER the bar causes me some pain. I would have preferred a step-through bike, but I do like the look of this one. It's pretty.

This bike is so cute! I love the mint green color. I use it to run errands around town, and it's perfect for that purpose. It's also good for leisurely rides along our local bike trail (which is relatively flat). It's only a one speed, so it has its limits. I'm fine with that, but if you're looking for a bike for fitness or commuting purposes, this is not the bike for you.

The quality of the bike seems consistent with the price. At under $200, I have no expectation that it will last forever or endure heavy use. That being said, it's probably a good choice for kids.

One mistake I made was not checking how big of a frame I would need for my size. I'm 5'3 and 100lbs, and I'm probably near the upper limit of what this bike can carry. I had to adjust the seat pretty far up, but was able to find a comfortable position. However, I would have returned this one for a larger size if I wasn't so lazy.

Assembly was easy and took me less than an hour. My only complaint is that allen wrenches were not included with the bike. The seller resolved this by sending me the allen wrenches, even though they don't include any tools with the bikes. That was nice of him! So hopefully you can learn from my mistake--check the assembly instructions on the Beachbikes website to make sure you have all of the tools you need before you start assembling the bike.

Bought the men's Firmstrong Beach Cruiser (3 Speed) through Amazon. Initially all was good, but the men's bike turned out to be defective as well....see my review on that bike. But initially, I was excited about this bike, so I ended up ordering the woman's Firmstrong beach cruiser so we would have a set. I prefer hand brakes so I opted for this 7 speed Beach Cruiser, plus it was cheaper than the 3 speed. It arrives, late, despite it being Prime. But I got it, and spent 4 hours putting this damn thing together. The instructions are horrible. Nonetheless, after getting through it, with the help of the internet and Youtube, we got it together and took out for a test spin. Lo and behold, it's DEFECTIVE. 7 speed, yet gears 5-6 do not work, at all. Tried and tried to make it work and it wouldn't work. Ended up calling Amazon the next morning to ask what my options were. Basically, Amazon doesn't care that I spent 4 hours assembling this thing, they tell me that I have to take it back apart, put into a box, and send back via UPS if I want to get a refund. Huh?! Disassemble it? Figure out how to fit back into the box, and then drag a 50pound box to UPS?????? Absurd. But I had no choice. I even asked if Amazon would simply pay for the repair and I would take it to a bike shop here locally. My intent was never to return it, I wanted to keep it, but if its defective, it's defective. Why is that my problem!!! So disappointing. After speaking to three different people at Amazon, I just went through the hassle of disassembling this bike, luckily I still had the original box since I just received it. So it's not like I was scamming Amazon and used it and wanted to return it. It was truly defective. Amazon is a nightmare to work with when you order this large ticket items. Stick to little things like shoes, clothes, food.... big items like TVs, bikes, no way again from Amazon. And this bike.... total fail. We ended up returning BOTH bikes and ended up buying two new bikes from the local bike shop down the street, for the same price.
