The Shoreline Marine Rounded Blade Kayak Paddle adjusts easily to three different positions allowing you to fine-tune the entry angle of you your paddle to match your rowing style and provide great control in all the conditions you will encounter out on the water. Great Bargain on this Paddle
This paddle was a heck of a bargain when I bought it for less than $30 bucks. It feels light, and the 96" length feels like it makes a world of difference over the 87" length that most other brands make. I wish I hadn't sold the thing with my kayak.The paddle breaks down into two parts for easy stowing when not in use.The drip guards didn't always do their job in my opinion. I'm not totally sure if there was some user error involved in my paddling motion, or if they just didn't function that well.The grips were comfy on my hands but moved around too easily in my opinion. The fact that they can move though is probably a plus so that however you prefer to grip, you can have some padding under your hands.In the end, I would definitely purchase this paddle again. It would be nice if they had some more color options though.

I've got an older model kayak that came with an older model paddle, though it was expensive way back when. I wanted to have a spare paddle but not spend a bunch of money since it was going to be a spare.
When it came the shape of the paddle part is totally different , being much more curved much more like a newer model of paddle vs the almost canoe paddle looking one I already had so I tried it out to see if it will be harder on my body to use long term trips. What I found was the ergonomics of it actually make it easier on my body and it, not sure if I'm writing this correctly but, seems to make my strokes more natural and I find my core muscles and hips tending to follow the proper motions without thinking about it thus I've actually gotten more power and results per stroke while at the same time less stressful on me after long trips. When paddling into the wind the paddle seems to be less cumbersome between strokes as well,I guess due to the more rounded spoon like shape. Today's venture was on a lake with 15mph steady winds with gusts to 35mph and I noticed 0 problem with the paddle in the wind. I use a straight style, not 1 up/1 down , the paddle being clipped into the center hole. I also splashed a whole lot LESS water into the boat and in myself because my strokes never seemed to get out of whack and I end up splashing myself. The wind blew a few drops in but none that I caused by user error like I used to get.
Time will tell how sturdy the paddle is it being plastic wings vs the aluminum of my other paddle but at under $40 shipped it has made a positive impact in my paddle strokes while also not adding any weight or girth to what I am used to.
For those that want a light paddle that is pretty easy to use for a nice price this one will for the criteria.

I've rented kayaks in the past. I enjoy it so much that I picked up two used models. They didn't come with paddles though. So I bought a set of these Shorelines for my wife and I and couldn't be happier. The price was right, and their quality and performance match or exceed paddles costing twice as much. They are lightweight for extended outings on the water and work well with our Ocean Kayaks. 96" is the perfect length for my wife and I. I also like the adjustable drip guards and padded hand grips.

The paddles quickly arrived safe and sound, shipped in a sturdy box. They come broken down in two pieces for easier transportation and click together solidly, giving you the option of three different paddle positions. The aluminum handle is very sturdy, as are the plastic scoops. These enter the water cleanly really help propel you along. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend them to novice kayakers looking for something affordable over a base model paddle.

My wife and I recently bought 2 Challenger K1 inflatable kayaks from here on Amazon. We were just starting out in kayaking and didn't want to spend a lot of money until we were for sure that we would like kayaking and stick with it. The Challenger comes with a paddle but it is flat and kind of short in length. After reading several reviewers say that they were much happier with their kayaks after buying new paddles, we decided to go ahead and pick up one of these 96" Shoreline paddles and try it out. I really couldn't believe it but it made a huge difference! I didn't hate or despise my old paddle, but after using this one, I hated going back to my old paddle! This paddle made it easier to go straight, easier to build and maintain speed, and was much more comfortable (thanks to its light weight and padded hand holds). After one day out on the lake of using this paddle and having to switch off with my wife between this paddle and my old paddle, I'm here on Amazon ordering another! In summary, this paddle is comfortable, easy to use, easy to store since it comes apart into 2 even sections, and makes going straighter and going faster easier compared to the flat style paddles that come with many inflatable kayaks. I looked at local retailers and they all wanted upwards of $60 for a paddle similar to this Shoreline. So for $35, this paddle is a great deal!

2nd time out, and from there on, they get water inside of the pole. They still work just fine, but the water makes them heavier, harder, more annoying to use. For those of you taking a 4 or 5 mile voyage you will notice this, and to get the water out you need to disconnect he two pieces and lay them upward so that water drains out the pole. If you are into kayaking or canoeing it may be a good idea to invest in something with bigger paddles and is, well, waterproof. Also they seem to be loosening up at where the two pieces connect. I frequently disconnect and reconnect the two pieces for storage and transportation purposes, and do not expect these to last more than a year or two. I would recommend this paddle for only those looking to get into paddling sports.

I would like to add that this paddle has influenced me to purchase more shoreline products as the parts that matter seem very well made, and this is a somewhat critical review.
