There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The water bottle was definitely one of the best I've ever used. It holds just as much water as I would want for a water bottle; it's as big as it can get while still being reasonable and fitting into water bottle holders on backpacks and such. The material of the side of the bottle is nicely flexible, so it's not to the point of awkward floppiness, but you can use your hand to squeeze out water. I have never experienced the problem that some people talked about where some water is always left in the bottom; I am able to get all of it out easily. Changing the filter is also easy. It only takes about 30 seconds.
Maybe this is weird, but I feel like this product helped me to be healthier, because I know that I drink way more water than I would have if I didn't have any way to filter it. Also, the design of the bottle is really nice and easy to use, whereas some water bottles are harder to get water out of for whatever reasons, making me more likely to drink water from the Brita water bottle more often.
I lost the water bottle about four or five months after buying it and so in February, I had to replace it. This time I bought it from Amazon. There was a very slight improvement in the new one. On the old one, the white plastic at the top where you drink from was starting to get chewed up because I'd use my teeth to pull it open instead of my hands to keep it cleaner. Bite marks were forming, which weren't actually breaking it at all, just looked a bit gross. The plus side to this was that it deterred people who wanted to borrow my water. But on the new water bottle I ordered, the white plastic was a bit harder and no bite marks formed. I guess I'll have to find some other way to deter people from drinking my water.
In conclusion, I have never had any problem with this water bottle. I have had several water bottles, and admittedly I got the vast majority for free, but this is still definitely the best I've owned by far. I truly think it increased the amount of water I take in each day because the water from it tastes so good and is so easy to drink. I can't speak for the other colors, but I can say that the light blue at least looks really nice in person. I used to drink about three or four cups or water a day. Now I drink about eight of these water bottles each day, in addition to other beverages I have. Buy this water bottle if you live somewhere with weird tap water or if you just want a nice water bottle to use. You won't regret it, I promise!
Now, I'm going to take a moment to debunk a few of the common misconceptions about this product, and in doing so I hope to expose how stupid some consumers really are.
The many other reviews I've read here truly reflect how people are such typical, stupid Americans -- they half-ass something, it doesn't go their way, and then they complain about it. For example, I've read many cases of where the water bottle "leaks," but if you have any common sense you'll be able to screw it on the right way -- it's really not that hard. I didn't have to use "superhuman strength" to keep it closed, and yet shockingly it works (strange, I know). I even have the sports-loop dongle still on and nothing has leaked.
Additionally, many people have complained that you have to suck really hard in order to get any water out of the bottle [insert an obligatory "that's what she said" joke here]. I must admit that while this is partially true, it's way over-exaggerated. It's really not that difficult unless you are 500 pounds obese. Moreover, because it's a sports bottle, you're supposed to squeeze the body of the bottle to dispense the water -- this is why Brita made the plastic so flexible. You're supposed to squeeze it, people.
Overall, I've lost hope in many of America's consumers, but I'd gladly recommend this bottle.
Top reviews from other countries
- The body shape of the new version is quite similar to the old version
- It is just as squeezable. I like the squeezable version than the hard plastic version, because I can either drink from the bottle or squeeze into a container; whereas the hard version I can only drink from the bottle
I like the newer version more:
- The finger loop design is better and makes more sense. The loop on the old version is sticking out, whereas the loop on the new version sits nicely
- The new version has a case for the carbon filter, whereas the filter of the old version comes with a plastic basket. Thus the new version has less plastic waste
I bring this bottle everywhere with me. I have not tested the water to see what it filters out (that's not what this bottle is advertised for anyway), but it does take out the chlorine taste in tap water. I live in the area where tap water is relatively clean so I feel safe to use it. However if you are concern about the content of tap water in your area and want to filter harmful substance other than just taste, you should consider something else. And I would definitely not use this bottle to filter river water during a hike, for example.
