How to mount on Subaru aero bar?

How to mount on Subaru aero bar?
I bought two kayaks at Costco. I ordered Malone racks after lots of research. I drive a 2014 Subaru Forrester. I purchased the Subaru aero bars.I was a bit unsure how to install these racks on my bars. The Subaru aero bars have a side brace and a slim plastic? aluminum? cross bar. Should the Malone racks clamp on the bar itself? Should the front of the rack be on the side brace of the bar? Should the "Jaws" brackets be attached to the side brace of the bar instead of the slim bar? Not knowing, I attached the brackets directly to the bars, loaded the kayaks, strapped them in, and went on a three hour drive across Idaho. All went well, tight, and strong. On the trip home driving 65mph there were strong crosswinds pressing on the kayaks, so strong that the front aero bar bent up on the left (see photo) and the continued force of the wind caused the right aero bar bracing to slip off the side rail. Thankfully the brace jammed on the inside edge of the side rail instead of flying completely off, and thankfully the Malone racks held strong, and the kayaks remained strapped tight. I pulled over, re-fit the left jammed side brace, moved the rack further out over the right bar bracing, and drove the rest of the way at about 50mph due to the prevailing winds and concern that the bent rack would slip out again. It was a long drive home!So now I have to replace the front bent aero bar. I think I will mount the racks directly to the side bracing of the bars, because clearly the aero bars themselves are too weak to withstand strong Idaho crosswinds.I'll post an update on my next outing if I find that my new plan works.
