Sharp..very nice...only opens up so far..
I wanted to let everyone know about this purchase as I was new to dog clippers. The ones I used before today were the guillotine ones..which are loud and one must feed the nail into a hole..hence why I am writing here...this pair of cutters one must feed the toenail into the hole..then you clip away...there is little to no noise, so very quiet...the handles are thin vs bulky...I would have preferred a different set of piler type cutters...I am keeping them...5.00 is good and hopefully this review will be of help to others...my dogs squirm so getting a nail into a hole to clip, well...I will try another set by safari . Also the cutters do not retract for closing as in storage or putting them away.. I probably needed to do more research. Thank you :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for dogs who don’t like trims

These are surprisingly good. My groomer recommended Safari brand clippers for my large dog (green ones in comparison pic) but the blade was too thick for my medium and small dogs (if blade’s too thick it can accidentally cut the quik easily). I took a chance on these Millers bc many of the reviews noted they don’t grab nor make a snicking noise, which is true - do indeed cut like butter!

For the first time ever (admittedly after a dose of Kids Gravol to make her sleepy) I was finally able to trim ALL of my seriously anti-trim medium sized dog’s nails in one go for the first time ever!

They don’t have a spring but instead have a series of tubes so cut smoother. They are not as bulky as the other types of clippers so weigh less, making them easier to manipulate in your hand. Not sure how they’d be on my large dog since i have the Safari clippers for her. Highly recommend for med & small dogs.
