The cord came wrapped up real tight so I'll have to spend some time training it not to curl up since it seems to want to curl into the disc when I'm moving it/sitting it down. Kind of annoying but that'll go away before long.
The motor feels way stronger than my Bosch did but that's probably just cause this grinder is brand new and my Bosch had over a thousand hours of hard labor on it and I forgot what that thing was like out of the box.
One gripe everybody mentioned is the stupid guard. I love the quick release on the guard since you had to unscrew the guard on the Bosch, but I didn't need a bag of guards for each task back then. I could switch from rock to cutting disc and back to my rock without problems. I never had a need for different "types" of guards. And of course this one didn't come with the Type 1 you apparently need for a cutting disc.
So, this is what you do. The reason the Type 27 guard won't work for cutting discs is because it tapers at the top. Take the guard and lay it flat on a real sturdy table, grab you a hammer, and spend a few minutes tapping around the small hole where it connects. Do this till it's flat. Now put it back on and guess what, you got a Type 1 guard. Now I can switch between cutting and grinding wheels without rubbing. It ain't a big deal.
I like this grinder. Great tool for the moneys.
It feels pretty cheap and flimsy, and it is very loud. But for the price I got more than expected and it did what I needed. That is why it gets 5 stars.

It feels pretty cheap and flimsy, and it is very loud. But for the price I got more than expected and it did what I needed. That is why it gets 5 stars.
I never felt like I had to 20+ years ago,
but I guess it's just another side effect of the lowest price/bottom dollar world we live in now.
New drill/grinder/motor/whatever?
Run that baby for a few minutes or more with no load.
Let it warm up, let it cool off.
If it gets really warm the first time, repeat,
or if you're adventurous with an especially cheap tool (HF?)
double check to see if there's even grease inside.
Sad truth is some of the cheaper tools have the equivalent of ear wax for grease in them.
This tool seems very good so far.
Broke in nicely, didn't seem overly warm/hot during break in & first use.
It's rated at 6 amps, but much heavier in weight than even my good 7amp Dewalt
Hopefully that's a good sign.
My other two grinders are a 5 amp Dewalt that's been a beast despite its rating,
and a "Companion" that despite being rated at 6.5 amps can barely knock warm butter off toast.
If this keeps up with the 5 amp Dewalt I'll consider it money well spent.
Likes and dislikes,
The lock button to stop the armature for wheel changes doesn't engage that great.
Hopefully that improves as it breaks in.
Action on the button itself seems less than great.
Time will tell.
The quick release guard adjuster is an unexpected bonus,
none of my other grinders have had that feature and I must say I really like it so far.
Action on that seems very firm, it's adjustable and it locks in and out nicely.
The side power button is good as well,
all of these type seem to lock in once in a while when you don't want them to and not lock in when you do.
Worse so if you're wearing gloves, but it's not out of the ordinary for these switches so maybe it's just me.
I'll update if the grinder gets better, or worse as time goes by but so far I'm impressed for $31.

I'm so impressed I'm going to get couple so I can have multiple types of blades on instead of changing blades all the time...uuuhhhg!! At this price it's really a no brainer.
I use mine a lot both for metal and wood carving and it gets 2 thumbs up from me.
I already have Porter Cable drill driver combo and they have been very good and I hope this will be too.
