The Approved Small Security Safe offers personalized protection with its programmable digital lock. This Digital Steel Security Safe features 2 live steel locking bolts for added security. There are also concealed hinges and a recessed door that are designed to prevent anyone from being able to pry open the safe. I would definitely buy another if I needed it and would suggest it to anyone looking for a small and affordable safe. It is fairly light as well. It just looks heavier that it really is. A nice little safebox.

This is a tiny safe. I use it for my home defense Glock 22 Gen 3. You can put three magazines in there and maybe a 50 round ammo box. I have three magazines and a handgun.

Now, you will need to mount this safe somewhere. It comes with four pre-drilled holes: two in the bottom and two in the back. It would be best if you mounted this because someone can easily unlock the safe using a thin stick. I'm not going into details about how there are plenty of YouTube videos about how to unlock this safe. Also, mounting this safe will help prevent someone from simply picking up and taking this safe.

I think it was a good purchase. It's small and gets the job done when properly mounted. Totally worth it, in my opinion.

Decent safe, generic design

Never owned a safe like this before so i bought it based on reviews on Amazon. My purpose is to use it as a gun safe for my pistol. I don't want to stuff it full of crap which will get in the way if there is an emergency.

First off it's small, I can fit 3 boxes of 9mm ammo and my Glock 26 in there and 3 clips and that's about it. Anymore and I start having issues taking things in and our cleanly and quickly. I didn't want a trigger lock to fumble with. I wanted a safe i can get into easily in an emergency and this one fits the bill. You can enter in your code and open up in about 2-3 seconds.

Is it secure? Sure. From little kids and opportunistic thieves. But anyone with time can crack this open. It's metal but lets face it, a crowbar and some time can force this open. There is even a youtube video out there that shows how you can reset the code by poking a plastic stick through the mount holes in the back or underneath and hitting the reset button. I'm not too worried about that because the mounting holes are not exposed on my safe and even if they were, I'd just tape a plastic cap over the reset button to make it more challenging.

There are 2 mounting holes in the back and underneath. I chose to put my safe on a shelf and mount it to the stud and drywall through the back. It's fairly secure but any thief with 10 mins can probably rip it apart and run with the safe. Hopefully they don't have 10 mins. I tried to pull it from the stud and it's on there tight but like I said, given enough time...

Anyways, you're given 2 keys in case the batteries on the door panel die. Keys are ok, i doubt a thief or a kid would happen to carry a duplicate for my given make and model safe. You can set your pin code from 4-8 digits. It beeps quite loudly. I took the door panel apart and identified the speaker as the small black cylinder on the circuit board. When I have time, I'll either desolder to remove it or poke something in there to break the speaker. I don't want an intruder to know when I am opening the safe. You can't disable the sound electronically.

Other than that, i think it's a decent safe for the money. It's a generic design so I found there are others out there for $20 less and they are all built the same way. My friend got a different brand and it's almost identical except it has 4 mounting holes in the back and bottom so if you secure to the studs and use big washers, it should be on there super secure.

It's not fire rated or anything so if there's a fire, expect anything inside to be destroyed.

I bought two of these, one for my vacation renter and one for me. I love the light screen so you know you didn't punch in the wrong number. It works just like the hotel ones. It comes with a master over ride key so if you forget your passcode or if the guest forget the code, I can get in. It comes with 2 sets of keys. I tried to get another one because I like it so much but the price went up so I bought another model from a different company. When I got that other safe, I had problems opening it and so I sent it back and even if the price almost doubled, I paid for this one because I know it works great. The other safe was a nightmare, and if I couldn't get it to open, my guest would have problems too.
