This is a 3-piece throwing knife set, the throwing knife is a single piece construction made of stainless steel, designed specifically for target throwing sport. The blade grinding produces a pointy and strong blade tip that is good for sticking into a target board. The same blade grinding also result in a shallow and thick edge which is not proficient in any utility cutting tasks. The handle is designed to be longer than the blade and without scales in order to achieve optimized flying stabilization rather than cutting ergonomics. Throwing knife over length is 8", the set comes in with a black nylon sheath

I originally ordered the Smith and Wesson 8” throwing knives. Then Amazon recommended these ones. The next day I tried to cancel my S&W order but couldn’t so they arrived together. The S&W’s are 5 times the price!My original thought was these are garbage compared to the S&W (see pics) so I logged into my account to send them back. Before they arrived, I had watched a how to throw a no spin video created by 4 time world champion. I tried both sets but could not get them to stick in the wood at all. So I decided I would send them all back.That night I watched more videos because I couldn’t believe I wasn’t getting the hang of it. I also reread what my fellow Amazonian reviewers wrote about these knives. I thought, how could they have so many people loving them? 🤔 In the morning, at 7 am. 😬, I decided I wanted to try them again. This time the Black Widows (that’s the pic on the side of the knives) stuck like darts! I LOVED THEM!….and I still couldn’t get the S&W’s to stick.I tried to find a reason to deduct a star from my review but couldn’t. I read one review that talked about the fact they seem like “cheap camp knives” because they have an edge. I suppose throwing knives aren’t supposed to have the edge but it does nothing to affect the throw. And as an added bonus, you could cut with them!Be aware they are noisy if you don’t stick them. They make a loud tinging noise.Here are some tips that helped me;1) In the morning I wrapped the wood in a few layers of cardboard. This helps with the confidence level. Because at first, the knives wouldn’t stick to just wood. As you get more cocky, sorry, I meant confident 😁, you will find the knives going all the way into the wood. Eventually you can just use the wood.2) watch the top guy’s videos! He advised to start throwing straight down in front of you. Then one step back on an angle. Then you can move further and further back. One step at a time worked best. This helps tremendously!3) The little hump on the knives are the perfect spot to put your index finger when throwing the no spin.

I was asked to teach a group of kids and these were all I could get on short notice. I built a target, and tested them at around 12 and 24 ft with great success. I didn't have any trouble getting them to stick.

My wife was able to stick them within 3 throws, and a lot of the kids were able to stick them consistently. They held up pretty well. I did have one with a pealed edge due to either being hit by another blade or finding something hard on a miss.

My one complaint is that they are so light that bounce back can be a real problem. On longer throws I had one come at me like a pop fly. If it had been a child it could have been a problem. One thing I did to help was to tape 2 layer of cardboard to the target to absorb some of the impact for missed throws.

I purchased 5 sets of these knives, and gave one to each member of our family for a Christmas present; I am always on the lookout for stuff we can do as a family that is new and different. So, I am not an expert. However, I do try and read reviews and I had read up on these knives, and they appeared to be a good buy. My hubby built a nice target board out of reclaimed cedar boards from an old deck we had. The knives came out of their boxes much sharper than I expected. They have decent heft, and, once you figure out how to throw them (it takes a while and EVERYONE has their own opinion on how to do it), they make a very satisfying THUNK when they penetrate, and they have enough weight to travel quite a distance, and I have no doubt that they could do serious damage if ever thrown at a person. I am looking forward to getting better at it. Kids are already saying we need a "dart board" pattern on the board so we can have more & different types of competition. (the first few times you are just trying to figure out how to get them to "stick")
Anyway, we have been out a few times and the knives are holding up very well. Being from Wisconsin, we started out in a garage due to the cold, but I worried about the knives being damaged from bouncing off the concrete floor all the time. They weren't, but we moved outside, and that is definitely better. When they bounce off the board and land on the ground they don't bounce, they just stick in the ground, so I think its safer, too. I sponged a blotches of different colored acrylic paint on the handles where the grip grooves are, to tell them apart. All in all, I am very pleased with them and would buy again (in fact, already did as another gift for a friend). So if you are looking for a "price is right" beginner set, I don't think you can go wrong buying these knives.

These seem to be of a good quality, and well made.

They came very sharp, so could be used as throwing knives, or even as survival knives.

They look just like the Gil Hibben Large Professional Throwing Knives, and even have the exact same etchings, and lanyard cutouts, but they are a little bit thinner, and about 1 inch shorter.

If Gil Hibben made a Medium Professional Throwing Knife, these would be those knives.

I have several of the Large Gil Hibben sets myself, and ordered 3 sets of these, primarily for my 24 year old son, and 16 year old daughter.

I am putting together bug-out bags for each member of my family, should the need arise, and each bug-out bag is fully equipped, in the event that we should ever get separated.

I would purchase these again. Especially for the price.

You can't beat the price, for the quality of these knives.

I will say that I ordered 2 sets in stainless, and 1 set in black.

But, I received 3 stainless sets.

I'm still happy with the blades for the price paid.

I know it's all me, but with these, even though I was just throwing them into a board on the ground, after the first three throws, I can stick every time now.
