First and foremost, the durability of this bag is outstanding. The ripstop nylon construction is incredibly tough and resilient, providing peace of mind that my belongings are protected from the rigors of travel. Whether I'm navigating crowded airports or rough terrain, this bag holds up beautifully, maintaining its shape and integrity trip after trip.
The spacious interior offers ample room for all of my essentials, and the multiple compartments and pockets help keep everything organized and easily accessible. I especially appreciate the large U-shaped opening, which makes packing and unpacking a breeze, saving me time and hassle on the go.
The smooth-rolling wheels and telescopic handle make maneuvering through airports and hotel lobbies a breeze. The handle extends and retracts effortlessly, and the wheels glide smoothly across any surface, ensuring a comfortable and efficient travel experience.
I also love the versatility of this bag. Whether I'm going on a weekend getaway or an extended vacation, the 30-inch size provides plenty of space without being bulky or cumbersome. Plus, the vibrant blue color stands out in a sea of luggage, making it easy to spot on the baggage carousel.
In summary, Samsonite Ripstop Wheeled Rolling Duffel Bag is a must-have for anyone who loves to travel. With its durability, spaciousness, and convenience features, it's the perfect companion for any journey, near or far. Trust me, once you experience the ease and reliability of this bag, you'll wonder how you ever traveled without it!
Other than that, these were exactly what we needed. We had a 44lb luggage weight limit and managed to keep just under that with 11 days of clothes and the usual travel necessities. I know that weight is totally relative - maybe you like to take a brick with you - but there you go.
The lower hard sided section is divided from the upper soft section by a zippered piece of mesh. If you get into one section, you can get into the other. They aren't locked apart. You can pack the more fragile items in the lower, hard sided section and everything else in the top section. Keep in mind that the top section is basically a duffle so it's going to get squished and pushed around like any other duffle but the material is thick and straps help keep things tightly in place.
The wheels are large and durable. The handle is a good size and long enough for me (6 feet tall) to pull comfortably. Handles on top of the bag make it easy lift, especially up into a trunk.
The design/colors make them easy to spot. We really didn't see any others like this on the belt. Although, maybe with all these good reviews and the price, they could get popular!
If this matters to you, the bags always seem to come down the belt laying on their front. In other words, back side up... laying on their soft side. It would be nice if they defaulted to laying on their hard side with the openings on top but ... that's just the way they end up.
These are going to be our "go to" bags for all of our trips that necessitate checked bags. And for the price, wow!
We waivered between the 26" and 30". Glad we went with the smaller because of the aforementioned 44lb limit.
Less than $200 for two great bags, satisfied.
You do want to pack the shoe pocket in the bottom with shoes (and socks) so it can stand without tipping forward -- either that, or just push it up to a wall (which I do on the short trips where it is 50% empty).
I take the heavy side-to-side straps and wrap them twice around the handles with a knot for all short trips -- keeps them out of the way and you don't have to keep clipping and unclipping them. For overseas trips, they add some good extra security.
You can lock down the inside with two small padlocks (not supplied) -- though when flying you don't want to lock them in case baggage handling wants to check your luggage (they will just then cut off the locks). We did use locks a couple of times when leaving the bags for 3 days in a hotel storage (while backpacking).
My wife and I are over 70yo -- the luggage is easy to roll and easy to lift with two hands. Wheels have stood up to significant abuse.
