Heavy and solid enough for $8 but not a quality lock. I was surprised that it's about the same price as the Allen Company 15415 lock that's better is just about every way for the same price.

Love the lock. Does the job. Sturdy. The price is ridiculous low for such a lock. Only positive criticism is there’s no instructions as to changing from factory code. Granted, it’s not all that difficult to figure out but you will have to guess a little which can be annoying. Would be nice to have a sheet of paper in the box explaining the steps. Overall I would recommend this lock.

There's nothing 'wrong' with this lock. It does what it's designed to do... especially for the low price. I just found it, well, unattractive. OK... yeah, I'm a shallow guy but look-and-feel does matter. But, seriously, this thing is kinda clunky and just has a chincy feel to it. Does that matter? Not really cause the lock works well. I just found myself less likely to use it when putting away my gun. Since, I don't have kids, keep my guns unloaded and I use a gun safe, an additional trigger lock is kinda over-kill. I'm just say'n I think I'd more likely attach this lock every time I put the gun away if I 'loved' the look and feel of this lock. I don't... so I don't. I hope that makes sense. :)

It works perfectly as described. It feels solid and locks well. The wheels actually turn really smooth and nice. I'm not sure why other people complain about it turning hard, maybe I am just lucky.

It didn't come with instructions but the default code is 000 and then you turn the lock counter clockwise then you can pull the lock off your trigger.

To change your combination, you have to unlock it, then on the right side of the lock module, there is a little pin hole. Stick something in there and then change your code to what you desire. Then release the pin. Your code will now be set.

I bought 4 of these locks and 2 failed. I originally rated it 5 stars. 60 days later one lock would not open and was locked on my gun. Seller told me to watch YouTube. What a joke. One video shows a guy hacksawing it off. I'll have a locksmith remove it. No returns. No replacement.
