Outstanding and true to size!
I had to adjust this down almost all the way to fit my 10yo which is great since he's on the smaller size for his age. Other sets we tried that stated 9-12 wouldn't work at all. This Mizuno set will last him several seasons for sure.
The chest guard does come with both left and right shoulder protectors even though only one is shown.
The helmet is more glasses friendly than other helmets that are the hockey style that he's tried, my son has no discomfort from wearing glasses in the helmet but it does grab the glasses when being thrown off his head. He had the older style full helmet before made by Schutt that didn't interfere at all when being thrown off but its not available for purchase anymore. This is the best helmet we've found for players that wear glasses since.
He loves that it's the most professional set he's worn and boasts that it has all the same features of MLB gear.
The foam in the chest is very dense and the layers of protection have him feeling more secure. The only downside is that with the added layers of protection come a little more heat retention, he says it's noticeably hotter to wear but he likes the trade off because the padding is good it's so adjustable and comfortable. He likes the look of it and how configurable it is.
