Works Beautifully for Mirrored Glass Tiles
I have never done any tile work, but that didn't stop me from designing (what I later learned) an advanced level fireplace surround and hearth using marble, and also antique mirrored glass tiles in an arabesque shape. I purchased a wet tile saw which worked great for the marble, but when it came to using it for cutting the glass tiles, I was having a very hard time since they would chip, and for the pieces I had to cut very small, there was no way I could hold the tile down, and cut it as desired with the saw. After searching for alternate tools online, I discovered that a tile cutter was a potential option. After doing a LOT of research, and seeing that this one has a carbide tipped scoring blade, I decided to give it a try. Since it was very inexpensive (when compared to the wet saw I purchased), I thought I would give it a try. Although I didn't see any reviews that referenced being used on glass tiles, I thought it could work. This tool arrived within 2 days, and I immediately got to work on cutting the glass tiles. This works like a CHARM!!! I only wish I had discovered this sooner! I still needed the wet tile saw for the marble and stone I used, but this is so easy to use. Like I said, I am a beginner and have never done any kind of tile project, but this was so easy (and safe) to use. I watched the video, and followed the demonstrated technique to a T. I just applied light pressure, ensuring I scored the tiles without stopping. The measuring guide / ruler on it was very helpful as well. I was even able to cut some of the smaller pieces with ease. Each of the pieces on my project that is not a whole piece had to be measured and cut individually. This tool really saved me a lot of time.I highly recommend it for anyone using glass tiles. Very easy to use!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hefty Cutter Well Worth the Money
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2017
I needed a new tile cutter to do my kitchen floor, because you can't replace the cutting wheel on the inexpensive cutter that I bought @ Lowe's. This ting is really sturdy & well built, and it has this very handy little window where you can check the alignment of the cutting wheel to your mark on the tile. One thing that frustrated me when I first used this cutter [as stupid as it's going to sound], but it worked too well. I was accustomed to the cheaper cutter I bought at Lowe's (it did work well, but you can't replace the wheel), but this QEP cutter is much, much heavier & more sturdy, so it doesn't take much effort to score & cut tile. The first few tiles I cut broke in ways that I didn't want them to. This cutter has fantastic rails that make the cutting head glide easily, and the cutting head/handle is nice & sturdy, which ads pressure to the cutting head, and therefor the tile.

The cutting wheel stayed sharp long enough for me to cut 40+ tiles with ease. The shape of the handle makes it comfortable to use repeatedly, and the swing-out arms that hold up the sides of the tile are good & sturdy as well. I bought a couple extra cutting wheels so I don't run into the same issue with the cheaper cutter that I already had, and maybe if I tile my rental units I'll have a need for them.

Because there are plenty of cheaper cutters out there, I was kind of skeptical to shell out almost a hundred bucks for this one (I don't see a need for it in the near future), but I'm definitely happy that I got this one... you will be too.
