Beeswax Candles

Beeswax Candles

  1. Melt Beeswax.
  2. Prepare your jars and wicks, centering your wicks in the jar.
  3. Optional: Once your wax is melted, you can stir in your desired essential oils.
  4. Pour melted beeswax into your glass jar.
  5. Set jars aside, allowing to cool and set completely for ~2 days.
  6. Trim wicks and light!

TIPS:

  • Melt wax in a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler, you can create on by bringing one inch of water to a low simmer, and placing a smaller pot or stainless steel bowl containing your beeswax inside.
  • Use Beesworks Candle Wick Holders to keep your wicks centered while your candle hardens!
  • Be careful not to heat wax above 185ºF as discoloration may occur.

Ingredients (Will Make Four 4 oz Candles)

  • 1 lb Beesworks Beeswax
  • Beesworks Candle Wicks
  • Glass Jar (or other candle container)
  • Beesworks Candle Wick Holder
  • Essential Oils (optional)
Beeswax Lip Balm

Beeswax Lip Balm

  1. Melt Beesworks Beeswax with shea butter and coconut oil.
  2. Once Melted, stir the ingredients together (essential oils may be added at this stage if desired).
  3. Pour mixture into desired container(s).
  4. Set aside, allowing to cool and set completely.

TIPS:

  • Melt wax in a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler, you can create on by bringing one inch of water to a low simmer, and placing a smaller pot or stainless steel bowl containing your beeswax inside.
  • If making tubes of lip balm, a pipette makes pouring the wax a cinch!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp (1 oz) Beesworks Beeswax
  • 2 Tbsp (1 oz) Shea Butter (or Cocoa Butter)
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • Six 1 oz Containers or 40 Tubes
  • Essential Oil (optional)
Beeswax Food Wrap

Beeswax Food Wrap

  1. Cut fabric to desired size and shape.
  2. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  3. Place fabric on a lined baking sheet and spread Beesworks Beeswax Pellets evenly over the fabric.
  4. Place in oven for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and use a clean brush to spread the melted wax evenly over the fabric.
  6. Let rest or hang to cool and dry.

TIPS:

  • Beeswax food wraps are a great alternative to plastic. Just clean in the sink and they are ready to reuse!
  • Wrap not working like it used to? Simply repeat this recipe, and apply new wax to bring the wrap back to life.
  • Watch carefully while everything is in the oven. We don't want anything to burn!

Smells EXACTLY as it Should, Completely debri free
I read so much on many different brands of beeswax about the unpleasant smells that I was concerned but gave the Beesworks pellets a try. Yes it has a odor. But guess what, not 2 days after using the Beesworks wax, we harvesting an abandoned bee hive that took over a squirrel box in our back yard....GUESS WHAT! The inside of the squirrel box was filled with honeycomb smelled exactly like the Beesworks wax pellets.......and I mean EXACTLY even in it natural state (see picture) in the box. Its somewhat of a neutral smell and one I cannot place from memory. My wife says it smells like wax.I used the Beesworks wax to combine with mineral oil to make a lotion for cutting boards. This beeswax is stated to be cosmetic grade which does not mean food preparation safe but as it is used to make lip balm I feel safe that any minute residue picked up from a cutting board is certainly less then one consumes when applying directly to the lips. The small beans of wax make it easy to measure out and it melts quickly. To make cutting board lotion, it was suggested a ratio of 4 parts food safe mineral oil to 1 part beeswax but I found that 6 to 1 was a better consistency for me and allowed it to be used with a bottle with a finger pump. Heated in a jar placed in simmering water the beeswax melted quickly and combined entirely with the mineral oil. While hot the wax oil mix was completely clean and clear, no debris was visible in the liquid and when cooled made a mildly yellow opaque lotion (see picture). AFter applied to the wood, I did not smell the same odor as when opening the bag. The concoction does not absorb completely into the wood cutting board and leaves a film unlike just pure mineral oil. I think I will experiment with even more dilutions of the beeswax as im not happy with the film the 6:1 concoction leaves and perhaps even add some lemon scent to it.

I ordered these for making a herbal salves.
Easy to use, pleasant, smelling, real beeswax.

I recently ordered another slightly cheaper brand to save money, when I received it, it wasn’t beeswax.
Will stick with this brand and order again.

I've never worked with beeswax before, but these are easy to use. They melt very quickly and mix well with other ingredients. I don't care for the scent, but apparently they smell just like wax off of a honeycomb, which tells me this is an authentic product.

As a key ingredient in my homemade natural sunscreen, this Beeswax was a delight to work with. Its high-quality and ease of use really made a difference in creating a cohesive, well-textured sunscreen.

Here’s the simple recipe I followed:

• 1 oz Grass-fed Tallow
• 1 oz Coconut Oil
• 1.5 oz Avocado Oil
• 1/2 oz Beeswax
• 1/2 oz Shea Butter
• 2 tbsp Non-nano Zinc Oxide
• 1/2 tbsp Cacao

Combine all these ingredients in a double boiler and melt until well combined. After everything is smoothly incorporated, pour the mixture into a glass container and let it cool.

The Beeswax played a vital role in this recipe. It served as a natural binder, bringing all the ingredients together to create a smoothly textured, easily spreadable sunscreen. Moreover, it helped to add a bit of water resistance to the product, a bonus for those beach or pool days.
