I had a really good experience with this "in home" test. I have been wanting to track my progress with triglycerides between doctor's visits, and this did the trick. I dropped my sample in the mail on a Friday and received my results via email the following Thursday.

The only issue I had was determining when I had dripped enough blood on the test strip. It didn't look like the blood was going to get to the line indicated, so I ended up dropping 10 drops which turned out to be too much. It took a few hours for the blob to dry enough so I could put it in the return pouch. I'll know for next time to just drop 4 or 5 drops.

Do not purchase this product. I have familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) which is a genetic tendency to very high cholesterol. I wanted to check my cholesterol numbers after a major change in diet and I did the first CoreMedica test (distributed by Solana here on Amazon) on May 28. I was amazed by the drop in my total cholesterol from 319 (last year at Quest Labs) to 133 with the CoreMedica results. Ecstatic, I went into my office to do a fasting lipid panel on June 15 for our wellness guidelines for my health insurance, confident that I was set with great cholesterol. It came back at 280. That's just 2 weeks later. So I bought another CoreMedica Lipid panel test the next day, June 16, yes I am a glutton for punishment. I sent in the blood sample and it came back as total cholesterol of 176. Different than the one sample I sent in May and totally different than the labwork done at my employer's wellness fair. So do NOT waste your money. This is a totally unreliable lab test.

I think it's probably a good accurate test, but it didn't work out for me, probably my fault. The lancet made such a small hole that I had problem getting any large drops of blood out. I squeezed several times and could only get one or two small drops. I tried the second lancet on another finger and had the same results. I did finally get enough blood on the pad so that the area for the blood was red but I think I took too long to do it and there should have been more blood than I could get. Which is strange because I usually bleed easily if I scratch my self doing yard work or whatever. Anyway I got a one page notice from the lab about a week later saying the lab results were not available because "Sample is unsuitable for analysis due to incorrect sample collection." So I paid $46 and got nothing, but as I said it was probably my fault.

Just for fun, I test my blood glucose often. No problem.
The hardest part of this test was drawing all the blood required. Drink lots of water beforehand. Expect to be able to drip 4 - 6 large hanging drops from a fingertip.
My blood is thick and flows slowly, so I had a harder time - this time. They want you to let the test collection paper dry for 1/2 hour. Mine took 3 hours.
I'm guessing this $45.00 test saved me over $200.00 at the doctors office.
The results were clear. They educate you as to exactly where you stand. Composite, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, etc. Everything.
Very happy with this test kit.

I used this test to track my blood lipid levels. The blood collection was a bit of a problem. You must get an ample supply of blood in order to get an accurate reading. Otherwise the test results were accurate as compared to blood lipid scores from other labs performed a month earlier. Overall a good home test.

The kit was delivered on time and kit seemed legitimate. However, the only way to get the results is through a website. The website would not recognize the sample code. There was no phone number, only a contact link. I sent two emails through the contact link and received no response whatsoever. My advise is do not buy. Update: Several MONTHS later, they finally sent a report. It said that all of my numbers were perfect. I was 49 years old, 85 pounds overweight, inactive, and had atrocious eating habits. I found it highly unlikely that all of my counts were ideal for a fit 25-year-old. I still do not recommend buying.

After completing the test, I mailed it off and within about a week or so, got my test results. Just to compare, I ordered another online kit from a different company and completed it too. The test results from both kits were within 10 points of each other so I feel like the results are fairly accurate.
