I received the product on the date promised. I had also purchased the assembly through Amazon. There was a mix up with the assembly and they did not show up on the date promised. However, when I contacted the company and Amazon, they were both very apologetic and worked to fix the problem very quickly. I can understand that mistakes are made, I judge the company on the way they handle the error. I have no complaints about the assembly. Once the error was identified, the company rescheduled immediately, apologized and got it taken care of.
The individual that came to my home to assemble the unit was very young, but polite and fast.
Using the Gazelle - I am not a work out fanatic. However, I work from home and sit in front of a computer for hours. I get very sore, especially in the back and shoulders. I have not watched the videos that came with the Gazelle (yet), but I remembered the videos from YouTube and have get on the machine every couple of hours for a few minutes and use it to stretch, plus do a short workout at the end of the day. Since it has very low impact on your joints, I am not very sore - a little sore because I have not worked out in so long, but that is to be expected. I feel like I get a very good stretch and it is easy to get worked up to a good cardio rate without causing your body pain.
The readout panel that shows number of calories burned or heart rate does is not working correctly. However, I don't know if that is a manufacturer issue or the young man that hooked up everything so I am still giving 5 stars as I think it may have been the way it was connected.
Overall, very happy with the product and think it will help me reach my goal to drop my blood pressure, weight and keep my back from being in constant pain from sitting.
I researched the Gazelle Supreme and felt confident it was going to be the right machine for me. I was not disappointed! Amazon had it to me within a week and I had it assembled within the hour. Great instructions- crappy tools. I ended up using the wrenches anyway because I didn't want to take the time to go to the garage and get mine, but the screwdriver was an abomination- L-shaped. Everything was packaged tightly and everything fit together perfectly. It's noticeably thicker tubing and sturdier than the Edge, and of course heavier- but I like that. I'm about 210lbs and feel very stable on it.
Now for the workout- Like I said, I've been a gazelle user for years, and I remember the first time I used it I could hardly walk for a few days afterwards. Don't make the mistake of trying to keep you heels down, let them come up naturally or your calves will revolt! The first five minutes on the Gazelle Supreme I thought I was going to be in trouble- it was so hard I thought I was going to have to disconnect the resistance shocks (which is an awesome option for starting out). But after a few minutes I got past the "runner's wall" so to speak and was able to continue for a half an hour, long enough to finish my episode of Californication- motivation.
I can't say enough about this machine. I had a steady heart rate of 145bpm for a half an hour. Normally I could only achieve that running, which I hate, or boxing a heavy bag, which I can't continue for 30 minutes strait. It's every thing I loved about my old Gazelle plus the bonus of resistance. The addition of the spring mounted cable is also wonderful to give a softer stride and the larger grips with the built in heart monitor is a welcome change.
To sum it up- Why wouldn't you buy a piece of workout equipment that can work the hell out of you while you watch TV in the comfort of your own home? The option to disconnect the resistance makes this perfect for beginners or more advanced users. It's low impact so your joints won't hate you afterwards. It folds up against the wall or even slides under a bed if you need to put it away. It doesn't need electricity so you can use it anywhere. I think for $285 it's the best all around workout for the buck.
