Customers are mixed about the leaking of the incontinence protector. Some mention that the quality is superb, with no leaks, and the triple leakage blockers provide just as good of coverage as other more expensive brands. However, others say that the diaper does leak from time to time and does not hold much. The latch comes undone and leaks. The diaper is never soaked when it leaks and it tends to blow up.

After reading the reviews before I made my order I was thinking people always has something negative to say. So heres my two cents luvs diapers doesnt leak atleast not with my baby i guess it depends on how long the child has it on for. It has yet to leak the stuffing out the side and it fits very well. The only thing i dont like compared to Huggies and Pampers is that luvs diapers is thinner and its more of a plastic material. The quality i would day isnt as great as Huggies or Pampers but it does hold up fairly well no diaper blow out. Oh and it doesn't cause any skin reactions with my baby neither is it scented
I only used Huggies with my older daughter and when I found out I was pregnant again I assumed I would only use Huggies again. For my shower I got multiple packs of diapers of various brands. I used the Luvs first because I assumed I wouldn’t like them… Well you know what happens when you assume. After using about 5 different brands I was surprised to find that the Luvs were my favorite. Here’s why I ‘Luv’ them:
The good: -Protection: We’ve never had any leaks with the Luvs. With Huggies I would get at least one leak a day around the elastic leg area. On some of the Huggies the blue elastic area that fits snug against the leg would be stuck to the diaper, so I would have to pull it up. I think our leaks may be due to that. With these I can pretty well trust I won’t’ have leaks and that if I end up going longer between diaper changes his clothes and car seat will be safe from the icky diaper contents. -Smell: At first I didn’t like the baby powder smell of them, but it masks dirty diapers pretty well. Sometimes I go to smell him and can’t tell if he’s pooped or not because of the diaper scent. I have to remove his clothes to visually check. -Appearance: I know it’s shallow, but when I am changing a diaper multiple times a day I like it to be cute if possible. The monkey design is adorable, I like it even getter than the Sesame Street on Pampers and the Micky & Minnie on Huggies. -Price: I was shocked at how inexpensive these are with the Subscribe & Save option! They are cheaper than diapers anywhere else I’ve seen and now I don’t have to worry about ever running out.
The bad: -Nothing!
I am glad someone bought me a pack of Luvs so I didn’t dismiss them when choosing my long term diaper. I know every child is built different though, so what works for one may not work for another.
The perfect diaper I have found are Luvs - they're a lot cheaper and leaks are kept to a minimum. I used Luvs with my son and am now using them with my daughter. I've never known a baby to go through their childhood without a diaper explosion from time to time but I feel that happens so much less frequently when my babies are in Luvs. Also, I love the cute little monkeys! (There's no reason to pay more for a licensed cartoon character on a diaper!)
I honestly don't know why people buy Huggies - they are awful diapers. They are expensive and leak everytime. (Huggies wipes on the otherhand are awesome)
Pampers are good diapers but they are WAY too expensive.
Everyone is complaining about the decline in quality of Luvs and the increase in price - that's the world we live in now. I don't doubt that these claims are true however I still find Luvs to be the best value/quality combo on the market. So for you new to the diaper world - or those thinking to change - give Luvs a chance.
Oh and as for the lack of a wetness indicator - those really aren't needed! It's very obvious when you touch a diaper if it's wet and needs to be changed. You don't need a little blue line to tell you that!
These work great - no blowouts! I've used these, Target's brand, and Pampers. These are equal to Pampers and slightly better than Target's. Best part is they are WAY cheaper than Pampers, which I appreciate. My baby has had constipation, which means when she does go...it's one heck of a huge load of poo. These diapers contain it with only the most minimal leakage on occasion. Regular poos and pees never leak.
The only negative, which is silly, and I can't even remove a star for, is that the purple monkey on them for decoration is SO UGLY. Seriously, pretty much any other design would be better. I'd be more entertained by an illustration of a purple poo emoticon than the creepy purple monkey. Fully aware that this may be my own weirdness showing.
Some one brought me a box of luvs at my baby shower and I loved them....when I needed more I couldnt find size 1 in the store so I switched to huggies I didn't like them....so I tried pampers didnt like them.....so I stumbled upon size 1 on here and I brought them because I loved them so much the first time I had them.....these are amazing my little one is 4 months now and I will usinh these as long as they have her size available as she gets older....they protect her clothes because they dont leak and sometimes I have to drive long distances and I know shes covered.....what I also noticed is my baby sleeps longer at night because she doesnt have to be changed as frequently.....I love these diapers...they were a great buy for a great price!!!!
Ok so we are officially switching from Pampers to Luvs. We used Pampers swaddlers for months and they were great. I loved that they were plusher than Luvs and the green indication stripe was helpful with a newborn. That said, we tried luvs for awhile when the little guy was about 6-7 months old. Around that time it seemed he was having fewer blowouts, we figured because he was moving to solid foods. I still had a box of pampers and we used those again for awhile and guess what - blowout city! Back to blowouts once every 1-2 weeks. So we are switching back to Luvs! I think for the really small newborns, I still prefer pampers; but for size 3 and up we are a Luvs family now! And of course it doesn't hurt that these are cheaper, especially with subscribe and save!
My son will be a year on the 18 of this month and i will say that i have tried every diaper and not one diaper has worked even half as good as luvs do for my son. I have tried huggies, parent choice, pampers and so on since he was a newborn and when he was about 2 months old i tried luvs and he has yet to anything come through or out the sides of the diaper like the other diapers have ALL done to me. i tell everyone that i know that has a baby to use luvs because how well they work. plus they dont cost me an arm and a leg to get and being a stay at home mom right now till my son is older really helps me out. I love that they fit him just the way they should not only around the waist but on the legs and my son is a mover with him walking and crawling and being all over the place and on the move all the time and i have yet to have one problem with the diapers. They also smell great like fresh baby smell. I recommend these diapers for everyone because i promise you will not regret it EVER!!!
